Holland Land Office Museum Artifact Video Series: People’s Press Newspaper

Curator Tyler Angora shares a compilation of a year’s worth of issues of the People’s Press Newspaper from 1825-1826. The newspaper was the second to appear in Batavia and ran weekly on Saturday. The newspaper is very similar to others of the time, and reports the local happenings of the people of Batavia, along with advertisements for goods and services of the 1820s. This bound compilation was donated to the museum by the Buffalo History Museum.
