June 2024…we are doing this trip next week. Getting excited, but am not sure how to pack. Looks like we need to send our cruise luggage on when we get to Vancouver…is that so?
It depends. We did a trip where we had to send luggage to the ship while we went on land, but for this Holland America cruise we kept all our luggage. When it comes to packing, Alaska is much more relaxed than other cruises. Smart casual works for most nights. You can optionally dress up though. And make sure to pack layers. An outer waterproof layer and a thermal layer. We packed a hat as well.

Is it worth it to get dining package for Denali/Yukon portion of trip? It seems so expensive. Any suggestions?? Are there options for us to eat on our own?
We had the dining package and found it to be worth it. There are places to eat on your own, though. Things are expensive since Denali and Yukon are remote and catering to tourists, so you will find food pricier. It was just easier to have meals covered ahead of time for us.

Thanks for the video...we just book the same trip in the opposite direction and I was curious what was involved on the land portion as the itinerary for next Aug is woefully lacking details.

I am not sure what you mean by cruise tour number, but this is the tour that went to Dawson City and it was 14 days. We cruise in the last two weeks of July

How did u pack? Ours is 11days 4-land 7-cruising. We're coming from Florida. 🎉
You definitely want to pack layers. An outer layer for rain, a mid layer for cold (Fleece or wool) bring a hat, even gloves. But also pack shorts and t-shirts. I can be hot during the day (especially on land) but cold on the ship (expecially when you are in Glacier Bay. You'll want hiking boots or running shoes and then even flip flops or sandle.
ALL we needed was short sleeves and a jacket &jeans. The weather was like our winters. Short and changed to warm afternoons. Y'all have fun 😃 👍
We did go on the Glacier. Bundle up with gloves, hat & long johns.
