Excellent video Pierre, made life so much easier and you show the correct tools to use. Show Chromes web site has a PDF instruction which says a Torx 20 driver for the top bolt. Mine is a 2021 RTL and needs the 8mm socket. My trunk is getting the same treatment, thankfully thats an easy one.

Gee I wish I’d seen this video before I replaced my seat shock. I sourced a replacement shock through a gas strut company here in Australia.
I ended up taking the whole left hand side panel and pillion footrest off to access the seat shock 😟
Oh well, you live and learn.
Thankyou for the video Pierre and for the great products you have available for the 2020+ Can Am Spyder 😊👍

Getting the old shock off was 1000x more difficult than shown....the indent of that band that you have to get your screwdriver into is pointing toward the front of bike and so is nearly impossible to access from underneath. In the video his seems to be pointing more towards the side of the bike and therefore easier to access. I got it eventually but basically just had to mangle the metal band from the side, which is fine but still a royal PITA since there's no indent on the side for your screwdriver. Can access the indent from the top IF you have a very long but very small screwdriver, which is hard to find because the longer the screwdriver usually the beefier it is (to beefy to get into the tiny crack of an indent opening).
Lastly, to get the new shock on I had to take the stupid plastic "engine cover" (that serves utterly no purpose) partially off that's under the front seat to get enough room for my hands to push the new shock onto the bottom post.
What a royal PITA for such a dumb part.

The sadness is we spend so very much on these bikes and then have to upgrade everything on them to make them work properly 😞

I’m really upset that for the money we spent on these things they use inferior parts. A crying shame you have to get good aftermarket shocks for this and the trunk lid. Seriously how much more would it have cost to put better ones on in the first place. Thx for a good video.
