Robin Williams as the Genie in Aladdin and Eddie Murphy as Donkey in Shrek are two of the best examples of animated movies properly using a comedian's talents
that's also because these movies aren't centered around them and the characters aren't exactly ment to be their RL counterparts

Fun Fact: This movie was supposed to be R-rated to match up the more raunchier material of Dangerfield. However, much like Cool World, it was toned down to PG.

Cool World was actually toned down to being rated PG-13. The plot that movie had would never pass as a PG rated movie.

Rover is completely fine and smug with having the drug dealer killed the same way he was. Sure it's karma, but its not exactly something you want the main character to revel in.
Roney Dangerfield was a real bastard for making this movie. He totally barked up the wrong tree. What a sad son of a bitch.

This wasn't supposed to be a kids movie. It was supposed to be R rated but the film studio suggested that they should make a kids movie.

This kind of movie is actually right up my alley. I like the one-liners, the art style, and the jokes. The story is simple, but it's cute. I actually want to see the whole film.

Also, i would be lying if i didn't say that scene with the turkey was so dark, it was absolutely *hilarious.* It literally seemed like it was Dangerfield there, not the dog as Dangerfield, trying to resuscitate the turkey. And for some reason, the bagpipe sound the turkey makes is absolutely PERFECT. It was basically a prototype of the parrot scene from Dumb and Dumber.

The wolf scene was obviously inspired by Babe. There's a scene in Babe where a sheep is killed by a pack of wild dogs. The farmer thinks Babe did it and tries to shoot him, but learns the truth before it's too late.

OK, Pen and Teller would actually be pretty cool. Teller, a bank teller, has trouble talking to people, until he finds a magic Pen that does all the talking for him, until the Pen starts thinking for himself and now there's a large battle between Pen and Teller.

Being from the UK and growing up not knowing about Rodney Dangerfield as a kid, I dunno how we got a VHS copy of this movie. That being said, I loved this movie as a kid and even now I could easily watch and enjoy it.
New Zealand over here, and exactly the same - hadn't heard of Rodney but got a copy of this tape somehow and my sister and I wore it out. We still quote it today

I use to watch this movie a little bit when I was a kid, it use to be on Cartoon Networks Cartoon Theater back in the late 90s. It's not really my kind of movie back then, but after watching this review I kinda wanna watch it now.

Doug’s enthusiasm for Christmas makes me feel good for the season even when I’m not feeling it so much myself. This is the 5th of the last 6 Christmas’s where I haven’t been able to be home because of the service. Luckily this will be the last Christmas I miss and these videos along with the specials are what keeps me going

I have such fond memories of watching this one for the first time with my sister in high school. At first we were confused when Doug just walks out of the room and into the backyard - we were both thinking, okay, what is this leading up to? And then when he rushes back to his desk and says "CHRISTMAS!" we both got the biggest smiles on our faces. What a great way to start the holiday season. And a very funny review too - some of the lines from this are burned into my memory over 10 years later.

What is it with celebrities (most notably comedians) making movies in which they play animated anthropomorphic animal versions of themselves? We've got this one, The Incredible Mr. Limpet, and Bee Movie for example.
I liked this movie as a kid. And I’m nostalgic for it now. It was one of those movies you catch at random sometimes when it happens to be on tv. It was played on different channels if I remember.
