- Surfers lucked out with dreamy conditions and swell that lasted for an entire week at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. This surfing event was filmed from February 7th-11th of 2022.

So beautiful. I love surfing OB - it is a humbling, challenging wave that can turn world-class when the planets align. Surfing out here consistently has made me a much better surfer, and dare I say, waterman.
How to surf Ocean Beach: use your step-up; go left; no fancy stuff: if you make it, pull out.

Thank you for such classic footage. The winter of 97 - 98 lined up a lot like this. But this may be all-time. Just the beach in all it's glory.

Gets like this every year. Funny how people always say, best in ten years, or biggest it been in ever. It gets perfect every year, just some days are better then others. The best I remember was the drought 2010 or something. We had a 2 year drought. All through oct and march not one rain drop and it was offshore for 6 months straight. Practically everyday. Plus the storms were far away. The swell was hitting but not the south wind rain pattern. That was a notable year.
Some of those sets are daunting. The big lefts look like pipeline.

Thanks for using a tripod and making it watchable. Good shots. When it's really big you can sometimes only get 4 waves in like 2 hours. The rest of the time is duck dive and paddle and being stuck inside. This is perfect size. even a bit smaller is what I like. catch more waves and less paddling.

Best group of surfers I've seen in an OB video!
For some reason you don't see to many novice surfers at ocean beach. Especially if it's on the second bar with current and top to bottom lips throwing. There is more than a handful of good surfers here. Lot of transplants living here so they can get Mavs. people from all over the world live here now just to surf mavs

So where are all of the groms in their late teens and early 20's with bleach blond hair and neon wetsuits trying to blast airs on every wave ? I'm sure that their rooms are plastered with waves like these but you never seem to see them in the lineup when it's actually firing 😆
We all wear black suits . Nobody wears color anymore. Not really an air day with that wind. Everyone is focused on the barrel. Not to many 10 to 13 year old groms up here. There all in the Cruz.
