The Airmen of Note Performing in Montgomery, Alabama for the 27th annual Glenn Miller Holiday Concert. Solos: Andy Axelrad - Alto Sax Kevin Burns - Trumpet
This performance is based on the 1941 Glenn Miller big band and jazz arrangement. It was originally released as a 78 single as "Jingle Bells" by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra backed with "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" by Alvino Rey and his Orchestra on RCA Bluebird, B-11353-A. "Jingle Bells" reached no. 5 on the Billboard pop singles chart in December, 1941. "Jingle Bells" was written by James Lord Pierpont in 1857 as "The One Horse Open Sleigh". The music of the 1941 version was arranged by Glenn Miller and William Finegan. Additional lyrics were written by Harold Dickinson and Bill Conway. The vocals are by Tex Beneke, Ernie Caceres, and The Modernaires. The song was also performed on the Chesterfield radio program Christmas show in 1941.
Louis Savich No, this is the arrangement labarbera did in the early 90s for the ghost band. Completely different arrangement and nothing like the 1941 version.

A great lesson for all students of big band how impotant it is to listen to each other. You can hear the ensemble work and how tight it is!
Fun! Those guys are awesome!
Yes, several, but as I understand it they aren't for sale publicly. Schools, libraries, etc. have access to them.
no - the new tenor player is Grant Langford
Is that Sal Miller playing tenor? How old is this video?
