Played this with my old college lab band members for free drinks and sandwiches back in the 70s. It was 20 of us an we rocked the trombone/trumpet section solos and high notes to the max. People thought that we were the Maynard Ferguson band. 😅

The only reason Allen is not as famous or more famous than Doc Severinsen is because he did not lead the Tonight Show band with Johnny Carson for many years. Allen is every bit as good as Doc Severinsen, if not better.

Two things I appreciate about Mr Vizzutti, #1 his embouchure and body posture is the same no matter what he is playing! #2 His tone is fantastic even when coming down out of the stratosphere his tone is still full and beautiful! What a player!

saw the man a few years ago when he was like 90 in Baltimore, and enjoyed every minute. It was thanksgiving and he was set to enjoy lasagna at Little Italy. He's certainly a trumpert players trumpet player.

The airball towards the end was intentional and I almost think that was the hardest thing for him to do is to intentionally have a shut down stunt. In other words, he would have to work very hard to intentionally make a mistake.

Allen Vizzutti will go down in history as the best trumpet player of all time.
