    For working DJ's and with most music purchases for $2 or less I would recommend having a base amount of music on your hard drive "just in case". For mobile and open source DJ's streaming services are great because of the wide variety offered.

      I’d never recommend to only rely on streaming music for any serious DJ sets. This just helps you find stuff you don’t have, especially with the amount of new music releasing these days.

      @Pedro Malanco I ran into that before. I have a hard drive that I use with my controller and if the wifi is slow or not working I go with that.

    It’s all about those DJ edit tracks on beat source, unless you’re playing basic house music only it’s too hard creating creative mixes with radio edits every single track which is what I’ve been doing using tidal for the last year, time for an upgrade

  • @bboymac84
    @bboymac84 Před 10 měsíci

    Most WiFi is super slow!! Your phones 5G network service is much much faster than most WiFi. So I just use Djay app on my phone and I get suggestions for song genres I’m not too familiar with. Serato need to level up their features!!

      Using tidal with serato and using tidal to stream music are 2 different things.

    • @djpyramidz3756

      @thirdletterc Gotcha so you only need to be subscribed to the basic plan of tidal to have access to it on Serato

    I use dj pools but just signed up to tidal. Reason being i can now look up any song available. Can’t do that with the pools. My only question because I do like being able to use Intros and clean versions. Would beatsource be like all other dj pools with limited music?

    • @thirdletterc
      @thirdletterc  Před rokem +2

      Do the beatsource trial and see if it works for you. I like beatsource a lot. it has so much, and a lot of playlists for when you get lazy. I just like to actually have the music. I use tidal cuz it’s just a perk for paying for the streaming service.

    What's best for a mobile wedding DJ in your opinion? Thank you

    • @thirdletterc
      @thirdletterc  Před rokem +3

      You can’t go wrong either way, but beatsource may have some wedding playlists, and other genres you may need depending on your crowd. And you won’t need a wifi connection with beatsource. If you already have a big DJ library, and just wanna be able to search for a new request you don’t have, use tidal.

      To download music to your hard drive you need to have the actual mp3, or wav/aiff. So either you buy them on iTunes, Amazon etc, and or join a record pool.

    i got both services streaming
    BeatSource ; 7 imllions tracks
    TIDAL ; 100 millions.
    i use a MSP controller and use BS for Streaming, because TIDAL not available for my MSP verison.
    i use a Tablet for backup with TIDAL and DJay, work great.
    TIDAL best for huge catalogue and for Wedding dj
