But Dad was faster... czcams.com/video/XPTPPG7RWmQ/video.html
And more composed. Son was fun to watch tho...
i dont care put the kid ina real rally, wrc.
@@juaquimgustavo4712 He has been this season
different car
I think Oliver was trying to put on a show with those slides and all. Petter did a more serious fast run.
When in doubt - flat out. ~Colin McRae
Dam right drive it like you stole it not a colin Mcrae quote lol
Great stuff
Not sure if it was flatout tbh, car was milimeters from doing a wheelie almost all the time...
Colin was my favorite...so sad that we lost him..rip
Apart from in a helicopter.
exactly how a FOS run should be, fast and a great show
@Dane well this run was just for the show, not an actual time run
Well, Petters wife did not cheat on him, thats for sure
I believe she is/was a pro driver too. Not sure you can rule it out!
@@shawnjohnson21 Her whole family tree is full of drivers, she drove a Group N Mitsubishi in WRC but I am not certain about her results
Cheers fella, just spat my beer all over the computer. Thats up there with the best comments i've ever read
And he's only 17 yo.
WHAT?
@@RikaRikaItsumika Bor in 2001, what a talent.
@@zaman88 meanwhile I'm 20 and I've accomplished nothing :'D
And he is a Solberg...its in his blood
Erik Accorsi never to late baby
Gonna be a drifty run!
Solberg: *Hold my Understeer.*
hahaha. great comment
Hahaha yes so original
He took understeer round the back of the bike shed and thrashed it to within an inch of its life
That's why Rallycross is the best racing sport right now. Little rockets
@Klemens Li 2 wheels is whack
@Klemens Li MotoGP boring as hell...
Bullshit, Rallycross is 99% about who wins the start, then nobody can get past, what's the point.
Julien Defrent rallycross is cool but again it’s like 4 laps 🤷♂️
@blanket53wc It is...what do you think WRX stands for? It's a Citroen not a Subaru.
Unbelievable car control from such a young man!! This guy is going to be fun to watch in the future.
And he has the same mega enthusiasm as his Dad, ace :)
he's already fun to watch!
He was defintly going on supersoft tires, such tires that dont last a whole regular RX-race
Kalle Rovanpera: Hold my beer...
check his yt channel, he is really good and even the best rally driver ever ( even if french :P ;D ) accepted to coach him :D
I watched this 4 times. Wow! Nothing like correcting "massive under steer" with a foot full of throttle. I think I'll watch it again. Love it.
What a lad.
He tried to take it clean first but it understeered, so he went full throttle. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
In the interview he said that since he messed up the first corner he might as well put on a show. And I don't care, he won.
He tried to flick it in the first corner to but he failed, rest of the run no errors like a normal fos run nowadays.
He's been a blast to watch the whole weekend, good wood is not about lap records it's about giving a great show
Wow!! He’s definitely going to be a champ!!
That was the run of the weekend. Total showboating and fabulous to watch, the crowd loved it. Future champion there.
I must have watched this about 20 times and still love the way powers out of the corners
Watching somebody control a car like that is just beautiful. I can’t imagine how that feels
The way he comes around that second turn is seriously gold
Very well executed drive, amazing skill and response, clean throttle control, for such a young person he drives exceptionally well, it's in the blood, like father like son
Superb 1st drift...that was full throttle all the way to finish!!
Great pilot and great things to come for him , really good to see him and his dad at the fos drive so well , thanks goodwood
So stoked to watch his career develop. Doesn’t matter if this was the quickest run it was absolutely at the limit of the car and that is what Motorsport and FOS is all about .
That’s insane, and still only 17yrs old! Got a great future!!
Absolutely LOVE this kid!!! Got to see him in at the Olympus and hes just such a great (and talented) guy. So much fun to see him turning heads at a big event like this.
Absolutely off his chops this boy 👏🏻. Loving your work Young Solberg 😎
British broadcasting is the most entertaining stuff in the world. Absolutely fantastic.
Too bad you can't make some of the words out, in the beginning he say some weird word.
Takes after his dad!! Amazing car control...unreal
Watched this live this run was insane !!!
His dad was probably smiling ear to ear after that run ✊
No only after he beat his time a few minutes later. Just imagine the ribbing he'd have got if he'd been beaten by his 17 year old son.
@@I_Evo i dont think that would be as much of a ribbing to petter as it would be praise for oliver
That was such a skilful run pure class
Total total commitment WOW that is on the limit. Understeer on first corner yet flat out on next tight corner .... RX Cars
More of this please 👍😃
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G , the most young of all. The best driver of all 🙈
Damn that's some insane driving skills 🔥🔥
I saw it live - by the first corner you knew you were in for a treat on that run.
I'm looking forward to having him on the rally stages proper...
(I know he has done a few rallies in Latvia and the US plus some in the ERC but now that he's 18 and has his license he'll be able to rally everywhere).
Awesome run!!!
great camerawork !
Good God does that kid have one helluva future ahead of him. What a run!
Future World Champion right there 🏁
Inherited Pappa's skill's + a little more. Star of the WRC future! 🌟
Was amazing to see!
This kid drives like his Dad. He's going to go far...
Jesus. What a run!
I think it’s safe to say he knows what he’s doing 😮
This kid just blows my mind... If that isn't talent then nothing is! ❤💪👍
Rally has a heritage, champions produce champs, seeing single seater cars all dolled with big spoilers and he made them looked slow ,great drive
Absolute Madman
I wish my comment could be a GIF of a stadium full of fans going insane!
So good i watched it twice !!
just beautiful
Jesus young Solberg is fast, furious, and the future....watch this space!
Freakin awesome wonderful talent
What an awesome driver this kid is!! Watched the festival to catch grant williams assault the hill in his jaguar, got oliver solberg instead. COMPLETELY ok with this. He has got a hell of a future ahead of him!
To hell with a roller coaster. I want a ride with this man.
I can't wait to see him at WRC.
Great driving!
Directly after this run Oliver's Dad went up the hill in a virtually identical car and drove with precision rather than flamboyance and beat his Son's time handily.
But his son is only 18, so give him a few more years 😊
Christ... Apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this instance.
Wow !
Go on son.....I bloody enjoyed that!
I want to see the driver cam. Epic driving!
amazing video very nice
This is the type of shenanigans I wanna see at FOS!
Father like son 👌🏽
Father would have crashed
He’s the real deal is this guy. Future world rally champion
Absolute madman
Man, at his age this is some impressive driving
Best run of the shootout
Great car control :)
wow, precision
This is one of the all time great runs.reminds me of that Toyota tacoma run.
Nose hardly drops at all during his run...
- because he was flat out the entire course. Goddamn.
Amazing Talent! ☺☺☺
Like Eyvind Hellstrøm would've said, he's absolutely fantastic!
The Goodwood dift has been born with Oliver Solberg.
Future world champion no doubt at all
How the hell would those hay bales protect the crowd in the case of a crash.
They won't, one day something will roll into the crowd, It's an accident waiting to happen IMO, I won't let my kids stand anywhere a car could roll over the bales.
There are poles behind the bales that are secured into the ground, I was there on Saturday. Those poles are in the ground and very sturdy, nothing will happen when they crash into the bales, on the corners there are extra rows of straw. Nothing can happen!
There have been several shunts into the bales over the years and believe me they DO indeed work! No-one ever gets hurt. That said ALL motorsport is inherently dangerous as you are warned when entering the event. Accidents can and do happen. But Goodwood is one of the best run motorsport events in the world and everything is well thought out.
@@alangale5666 they run Dakar trucks and armoured vehicles during the hill climb that would easily burst through that stuff, let alone if something was to go airborne into the stands, there is no catch fence. Poles behind a bale of hay won't do shit against that Dakar truck they ran this weekend or if a drift car flipped. How people justify this is frightening.
I was there all weekend this year, a few cars hit the bales and they stopped dead pretty much, the bales hardly moved, both a NASCAR and a Delta S4 hit them and the cars were wrecked and the bales were fine
I'm speechless.
That was awesome
How DAFUQ can you dislike this. xD??? A 16 year old kid who did a 270 degree drift entry?
future wrx champion right there
What a... What a MENTAL GUY!!
0:46 That pop tho 😮🤙
thats how i go to my work every day...lol. amazing young guy...
bravo oli !!!!
That Is One Scary Car
"Massive understeer, he's going to need to sort that"
Nekminnit: Sorted!! :)
This kid is the next WRC World Champion
Apparently the only available toilet was located on the top of the hill ? 😁 Amazing driving from someone who still would be to young to drive on his own in most contryes in Europe 👍
perfectly legal here in Britain
@@joelambert7128 yes but he said "most countries in Europe" and as far as I'm aware, that's true
That was quick
Go on lad. 👍
0:45 absolutely deafening!!
Full send!
Nice skills
Rallycross cars are insanely fast, I remember seeing the stats on a Focus rallycross car, 0 to 60 in 1.8 seconds.
I think you mean they have big acceleration, this drifty run loses all kinds of speed and time for the showiness. Spectacularly entertaining, but not competitively fast.
@@DoctorShocktor No, I meant to say what I actually said.
Oliver Solberg drove for the crowd.
Rallycross cars are insanely fast.
Yeh, but they are faster on the dirt rather then asphalt, they need rally spec tires to hit sub 2sec 0-60
@@S3l3ct1ve Rallycross cars don't run gravel tyres like regular rally car because they transition from tarmac to gravel during the race.
Most Rallycross circuits start on tarmac too.
Love ds3
My boss owns the car now
How badass this kid is
What a monster..
OMFG crazy!!!
Anyone else see a bit of LFS driving there? I see someone who's done a ton of south city races just saying.
