    Seeing Nick Heidfeld's lap really proves something I've been preaching since I got into motorsport in the early 90s. Looking at the numbers only it would seem that Nick was an average driver in F1 at best, yet seeing his run it is evident that he's from another planet when it comes to car control which only proves that if you get to sit in an F1 car and you can qualify and finish races you are indeed the best of the best and shouldn't be considered "a bad" driver if you don't have a bazillion podiums and seventeen million world titles. @ALMX5DP Před 4 lety +1

      bert1981 sure but crowds haven’t been banned and fast cars still run up the hill. The ban was F1 cars, and while they might be faster than the IDR I don’t believe they’d necessarily be any less safe doing so.

    • @bert1981
      @bert1981 Před 4 lety

      Alan Bowers it’s in a relation to how the cars make their speed the idea has torque and traction on its side an f1’s big advantage is corner speed. Just look at the amount of run off required for a modern f1 circuit. Not running modern f1 for times is the right decision for safety and it’s also the right decision for the crowd they get to see the car hear then smell them even feel the noise instead of a noisy or not so noisy flash as they fly pass.
