Exactly, A true leader takes responsibility. He assembled the team- put the whole team on the trading blocks. Got rid of DLo, Lopez, Zubac etc and quit without telling anyone. I respect Magic as a player but this was a low and self-centered move by him. Quitting because people are talking behind your back is stupid- it happens in every job. However when he wanted to trade the whole team he told them "it's a business" and be professional...all the while he punked out
He's an embarrassment. He was was my favorite player growing up as a kid. I loved Showtime Lakers. Most great players fail miserably in roles outside of playing. This is great news for the Lakers in the long run. They can hire someone that wants to do the work and not just be a celebrity and smile.

He never sounded like he was quitting to any of them. Something happened in those meetings that turned off Magic. It's why he didn't tell Jeanie beforehand.
When Magic announced it, Jeanie was driving to Staples to attend the final game. When she found out about Magic quitting, she drove right back home (probably in tears).
Something happened in those meetings that had Magic not agreeing with the direction of the franchise with either Jeanie or LeBron.

All signs point to that and from what I gather he wasn't told the truth about why he was being brought in as the president of basketball operations or how much control he would have over this team. I also noticed that despite him publicly hyping up their draft selections and free agent acquisitions he never seemed like he was 100 percent behind those move besides the LeBron move and came off like all the Lakers off season moves and in season moves were being made without his input.
