Married with kids but I think millenials are increasing building their own family support system. We have a group of families who support one another and help with child care. We go camping and have planned a big vacation. My immediate family is all overseas and I've consciously prioritized my relationship with them over certain in laws. Whilst it isn't perfect they have shown up, often when it mattered most, far more than others who expect loyalty without offering support. No thanks!

My most important relationship that I invest the most time into is with my sisters. They are teenagers from my dad's second marriage and they are the light of my life. I don't have to parent them but want to be someone that can trust and count on. Also have some deep and beautiful friendships. And none of these people live in the same city as I do. We can all decide what's important and where to invest our energy and that is what makes something meaningful. Not proximity or nature of the relationship, and I think it is so wonderful.

How do you define fulfilling in the platonic sense it seems as an adult? I recently said that you seem to have the mental capacity of a 14 year old. Do you really think 'hanging out' with teenagers is an appropriate activity for someone your age? Should you not go and find people your own age to be around? So what if those kids grow up and have partners and families? What would you do then? It seems your biggest issue in life is 'not liking when people tell you things.' One of the keys of adulthood is learning to get on with it even when you do not enjoy want to.

Do you really have nothing better to do than watch the content of someone you clearly do not agree with? These teenagers are my sisters, should I not spend time with them? Isn't family the most important? Why would my sisters stop being a part of my life if they have their own children? That makes no sense.

Yes, there’s a question of efficacy here. I watch these videos and I like them so I sometimes engage. That’s an intentional and deliberate act on my part. Usually it’s something I like to do. That’s how I define that. If I did not want to engage with this person who has made free content for anyone to enjoy, I would imagine it more effective to simply go and watch someone I can relate with to an extent. It’s just, you aren’t happy, but that doesn’t make it cool to be a thoughtless person to a stranger who is inviting you into their perspective. There’s a way to say a thing, and some things just don’t make sense to say to someone. It’s not effective for you to feel better or to get a connection that can make you understand what you want to understand. There’s nothing to criticize about this video or this woman.
