Actually; no one is called “Amrooo”! 😃 It’s either “Amr” عَمْرو or “Omar” عُمَرْ, and it’s important to mention that the way “Amr” is spelled in Arabic Language does not dictate how it’s pronounced! It’s that complicated 🙃

The name does exist; we all recognize this, and it’s pretty common here in Egypt BTW, but it’s so wrong for us native arabs to pronounce it as “Amrooo”!! The letter "و" found at the end of the name "عمرو" is just placed there to show the difference between "عمرو" and "عمر". The same applies for the word "مائة" which means one hundred, you can’t pronounce it like “maaa’aaah”, it’s just “me’ah”.
So once again, no one is called “Amrooo”, and it’s false to say that “it’s just not common”, because it doesn’t have to be pronounced in a wrong manner at the first place; WHATSOEVER!
P.S. this comment comes from a native speaker, who happens to be an Egyptian citizen, from the same country where “Amr” is from 🙂
