- After several long years of watching my friends and other bikers import BMW touring and sports bikes, waiting for their deliveries for months, paying hefty duties, importing the aftermarket add-ons, and then looking for someone to fix any issues in their bikes... Alhamdulillah the day is finally here when a company like BMW has launched their well known adventure touring and other bikes in Pakistan.
Hopefully this is going to be the start of a new biking era in Pakistan

I think for private investors and government it is a great opportunity to revolutionise the bike industry in Pakistan
I mean to say BMW should be given special discount on import taxes for a special time in order to make the bikes more competitive ( as the prices will be lowered ) moreover government and other private bodies should try their best to convince BMW for local assembly ( not manufacturing) by giving them a big chunk of commercial area or by leasing the land for very low price and for a large period of time and import taxes should be heavily reduced on their parts
This will be huge step for our bike industry because due to cheap labour of Pakistan their bikes will have a more competitive prices and these bikes increase our exports
Consequence:-
1)Seeing this other bike companies will also come here ( I know most of them have assembly plants in India but it's the job of the government to convince them )
2) seeing the increasing trend of biking ;companies involved in the manufacturing of bike products will also come here to dominate the market
3) Our exports will increase because a large number of bikes will also be exported to countries like Turkmenistan etc
4) Our local companies will thrive because they will be able to experience the modern bikes and thus try to become a part of the market by introducing their own bikes
