I always felt that Franky just knew what kind of music black folk need and understands. He has a great and honest voice and knows how to articulate the words to us. His band stays low-key and filled with melody and the Band Members are off the chart.
When you look at them (and Franky cute as a button in his white) you see a bunch of guys who want to perform out of love for their craft. In this regard it works out that they're the best for many of us.

I saw them when they first played Hammersmith odeon in 1982 after buying their live in New Orleans album the year before, such an amazing experience, my friends and I subsequently made sure we saw them again in 83 and 85. Timeless music and such talented artists

I am glad these guys stayed together and didn't mess with that sound that they had like some of the others did. They should have realized that you start together and just let each other do their own projects but stay together because you have a sound that you can't duplicate with anybody else and when you guys play together it's just magic because you have been through the good and and made it happen because of the love you had for the music and each other

One of the best bands and still performing. Other than EWF, this is one of the original bands from back in the day when musicians really played instruments.
