I have no idea who Jenny Nicholson is and I have only seen a few clips from FIW so this does not phase me at all.
I hold zero ill will towards Chris, all of his stuff is genuinely harmless and if unboxing fnaf toys lets him worry less about money while he does things he loves like ghosthunting then so be it. Additionally, I actually really like the craftsmanship of his puppets, they look great for something he likely made all by himself

Same here. Though being honest I think that the drama with AVGN was a bit overblown imo. There were more people who's AVGN style reviews were honestly worse than Irate Gamer's videos. At least Chris had the production value to make himself stand out from the other copycats. As for his other content though seeing his newest videos the channel seems harmless enough. There's other channels like this that have hidden more shocking stuff behind the scenes and him using puppets is honestly more bizarre than disturbing or shocking.

What a journey this guy went on. He went from a AVGN clone to, reviewing SkyLanders, to a puppet show to a puppet show that reviews fnaf toys. Talk about a complete 180°.
I thought the ghost hunting stuff was later on but still he has such a interesting life doing so many things, its honestly impressive really.
Bro the fact that the IRATE GAMER ended up as a FNaF toy review channel with a direct line of contact to Funko is a plot twist that I don’t think Shyamalon could’ve written in his prime. Real life really the craziest story of all, isn’t it?
I'm genuinely happy that this actually had more positives than negatives in the end. I really hope that Chris is still having fun goofing off on the Puppet Steve channel, and doing what he's doing elsewhere on the side as well. It's nice to see that silly things like table bit hasn't changed, and with random genuinely hilarious quips here and there.

The Puppet Steve lore goes DEEP. I never knew about stuff like the fact that Chris pretty much knew nothing about FNaF lmao, I did know of the existence of Marty & Muffin and the first time the infamous news saying the withereds were coming to no avail (so far). I do have faint memories of watching a video about Puppet Steve’s true identity but I think I didn’t really care around the time. Great video as always, love the amount of research that gets fit into these!

Got mental whiplash when you said you were born in 2003, the same year as me. As someone who's watched CZcams for most of my life I always assumed everyone I watched was way older than I am and its crazy to me that I'm old enough so that the people I watch are the same age as me.

I was expecting some horrifyingly terrible shlock, but this ended up being surprisingly goofy and fun! Its quite a nice change of pace honestly. Though his knowledge on FNAF may be limited at best, he still got all the spirit and table wobbles he needs.
(Also rest in peace Marty, you were really done dirty)

What makes AVGN hold up is the writing. James is never angry for the sake of being angry. He always gives a fair reaction, with generic bad games making him moderately frustrated to supreme shit stains giving him a mental breakdown. The wave of clones didn't pick up on the nuance and thought being belligerent and hostile at all times was all they needed.
So I have been a massive Toys to Life fan for its entire existence, even to the point of doing an entire final project on the history of them in college, and you are the ONLY CZcamsr I’ve ever seen mention how it actually started with U.B. Funkeys, (which I also still have a few of) Congrats on doing your research spiffy dog-man! And thanks for the flashbacks😂

One of Puppet Steve’s videos is about reviewing plushies. And these plushies come from a show called Helluva Boss. And for those who don’t know, Helluva Boss is about a group of demon assassinating people, doing drugs, and having sex. Clearly this man didn’t know nothing about the show.

Funkies were SOOOOO fun, man. My brother and I would regularly ask my mom to get us more whenever we could, and we used to destroy the magnetic bottoms on accident every now and again. I think my favorite was called Scratch or something like that?

His information might not be totally accurate, but I find there to be something really sweet about an influencer of sorts like that going "Hey, I've noticed these kids really wish they could have plush toys of these characters. Could we make that happen?" I mean, you can make arguments either way I guess, but I dunno. I think that's nice.
I shit you not, as soon as you said "Chris Bores", I turned my head from Skyrim to my screen. I tuned to his channel a few times last year so to see him pop up here, on a FNaF-related channel of all things, even more so that he's apparently doing kids content now, just hit me with a wave of confusion I don't think I can get over any time soon. Well, time to sit back and traverse this rabbit hole.

An interesting sort of FNAF-related rabbit hole that I think would be interesting to look into would probably be the MangoTango FNAF x Minecraft roleplay era of his channel. I remember watching those "FNAF World" videos of his nearly every day after getting home from school during my 7 and 8th-grade years, back when I heavily followed almost every piece of FNAF content on the internet. I eventually fell out of watching those videos and slowly forgot about it. I only recently remembered him when I watched Minaxa's video titled "What Happened To These FNAF CZcamsrs?". I would love to see that era of his content covered in a video like this.

The hilarious thing about the Alphabet Bunch is that it was based off of (ripped off?) an obscure TV show from the 70s, based on an educational program called “The Letter People,” with the exact same designs as in these videos.
It’s actually pretty interesting, and due to the quirky writing and weird puppet design, I recommend The Letter People! I just thought I should mention this. Also there are some legit banger songs in the show.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed, my mom showed be the show when I was little.
My kindegarten actually used the Letter People to teach us the alphabet - which is weird becuase this was in like 2010 - so it sometimes slips my mind that people wouldn't immediately know of them. Looking back though, they are pretty uncanny, but in an almost sort of charming way.
My dad had watched it as a I child. I remember him showing us reuploads of those music videos. The 70s were a weird time.

I actually remember watching both puppet Steve and irate gamer when I was younger and I still do time to time
See, I kinda respect that - despite not knowing what he's on about - Puppet Steve still requested certain things from Funko, his heart is in the right place at least, and he clearly cares about the community his audience is part of. Sure his content may be kind of cringy to us older people, but kids have no concept of cringe, so I doubt they really care. Honestly, the dude ain't doin anything wrong, and his controversial days are behind him, more power to him. Also yeah I hope he never changes the table. Genuinely never watched the dude, but the shakey table is amazing.
That Gravity Fall toy video was the first video where I made the connections between Puppet Steve and Irate/Chris.
I remember writing a comment on the the similarity between the two and it getting deleted.
The first thing that popped into my head when you mentioned AVGN clones was Irate Gamer, and only because HLVRAI had a character (Forzen) whose entire character motive was apparently trying to convince people that Irate Gamer wasn't an AVGN clone

Man, Chris Bores takes me back to those AVGN copy and clone days and the drama that would keep happening. Really wild and fun time seeing it all go down.
Bad news about the withered merch coming 2023.. Apparently, after the circus and balloon wave is going to be a Christmas type wave, which is the last wave being released this year due to only 2 fnaf merch waves happening every year. The Christmas wave was leaked by a famous trustworthy leaker who even leaked the FNAF foxy and lefty statues that are releasing later down the year. But they could be coming in 2024. The second wave to release every year is a recolor wave that just reuses plushies and colors/styles them each different (example: the tye dye plushies and figures). They had already planned on making a circus/balloon animatronic wave, so they probably couldn't make the withered wave. This could really mean that the next year, we could finally get them. But if Funko doesn't make them, they won't understand the many sales they will get by making the withered wave.

I actually *did* grow up with the series (I'm 13 now, got my first game probably around 2015). I don't have many figures, but my best friend actually still plays the game and has a huge collection, going game by game completing each game's series of figures. He probably has around 115 of them now.
Alright. You're officially my favorite CZcamsr, and I don't say that lightly! You make awesome fnaf/horror content, you use music from my favorite games (and homestuck. i know what you are.) and now you bring up skylanders! Dude, this is awesome.

I remember watching puppet Steve as a kid and i had COMPLETELY forgotten about it until just now
God seeing Irate Gamer in this brought back way too many memories. I remember actually enjoying his content at the time. Not as much as AVGN, but i remember feeling kind of alone in liking his stuff since he was so despised by everyone on CZcams and whatever form social media had at the time. It actually made me happy when i saw James came and played a character on one of his later videos.

I always thought that the irate gamer and puppet Steve had similar voices. I did play around with the idea that maybe they were the same person, but I didn’t think it would be actually true.

I remember watching the IRATE Gamer, I started watching only that video for Super Mario Bros. 2. But I was so young that I didn't know that he copied AVGN and he is actually Puppet Steve. I also remember using Skylanders I wish they came back but without the toys to not be crowded in the market. Well done uhyeah, you gave my nostalgic back with honor and also blew my mind!!
