- Wow! It's been a journey and I'm so grateful that I get to share it all with YOU!!
These last few months have been stressful, taxing and way more emotionally draining than I could have imagined!! I've been restructuring my company and I had no idea just how much of my energy, and my mental capacity, this was going to require when I started the restructure.
That said, it's all for the better because my business is GROWING UP and I'm READY TO TAKE ON MORE!!

Karin, thank you for letting us in on this journey! I’m excited about this new direction. I find myself living vicariously through you. In middle school I spent hours and hours reading what was then called “interior decorating.” I was in heaven every school day for an hour in the library with the color wheel and room layouts.... Life happened and God had a very different direction for me and yet this design, interiors, aesthetics thing soothes a place in my soul like none other. I’m hyped for this experience of yours and ours! Let’s do this!!

Karin, I couldn't help but notice your shirt read "Introvert." I'd love to learn more about how you identify as an introverted business owner. There is this common misconception that introverts can't thrive as well as extroverts in business. What are your thoughts on this? Strengths, weaknesses, etc.
Hi Karin - I really enjoy and prefer when everything comes together, I love the business & entrepreneurship content where you centre in on specific points, feature on podcasts, publications etc and that there is a theme to each video; but it gets amplified when the real life application is seen which includes design & creative and running HOB. Both are important in showing what your day-to-day reality is as well as the overall perspectives and reflections on what it takes to run an interior design business. I love seeing you do what you want to do, seeing how you take risks and navigate growth & change, hearing your 'car confessions' about what you have learnt and are reflecting on and so much more. Thank you as always to you and your team for creating and sharing so much valuable insight and content 👑💖

Your contribution as a woman entrepreneur is HUGE and I for one watch your content specifically for all your nuggets of GOLD mixed into the videos. I think there are plenty male entrepreneurs out there to satisfy everyone BUT we females also want to watch women making a legacy and have our feminine entrepreneur role models. Women do business differently than males and that’s important to recognise. Wearing ten gazillion hats in our business at the moment and it’s so true that no matter how far you get, you will always be squeezed. Sometimes I just want to be an employee, the constant anxiety is so hard to deal with 😩😩, thank you for this video, it definitely doesn’t get easier.
Question, how do you handle the rest of your life? Like exercise, social life, generally breathing outside your business ? I feel like I’m constantly battling with my body but I can’t slow down bc so many things depend on me

You are amazing, Karin.. the Clove project, I think, is one of HOB's most original projects. I love love the interesting materials and the depth. I would love to know how you dealt with the restructure process. Did you use an outside consultant? How did you know how to go about it?..

Hi Karin!! Big fan of yours!! Would love to know how you started or with your business development as a startup? People generally ask to get into your family and friends but what when they ain’t supportive!
Finally the project review we all wanted to see. Though the camera work was a li'l wobly and out of control, not knowing where to focus while moving. BTW, an extra advantage of having a female videorapher is she would tell you how to look in form before starting to record you! ;-)

When did you know it was time to hire more people? I just hired a VA to handle my social media and I already feel so much better! I am on track to make well into 6 figures this year and would love to hire out marketing as well. I already pay 2 MUAs and a VA so it scares me to add even more expenses but I know that this will help grow my business.

I’m just curious - when these restaurants/businesses invest so much into these interior design solutions, do they actually own the property or they are renting the premises on a 5-10 year lease? And if they do, what happens to the flooring/walls etc shall their business close down? Because it seems like a lot of investment.
Hi Karin. I find your videos very inspirational. I currently have a small interior design business. I would very much like to take it to the next level. My road block is pricing jobs. I have tried hourly and have a hard time getting clients that way. I have been doing flat fee for the last couple years but projects take longer than expected and little profit. My clients are typically new to having someone design their home and they usually don’t like to discuss money. Any advice would be so helpful.
