Great Video!! Question about this; I have the 10.25 Android screen installed in my F31 (original 6.5 inch) and can not find the setting for Display size resolution under the 3000HMI. Could it be elswhere in the F31?

3005 display_pip_config section
Change CID_Display_res
Change CID_Display_ size
Now go out and enter
3001 EXBox section
Display_Variante and change from schmal (German for narrow) to breites (wide)
Now go into
3006 Navigation section
Find Display_Size_Resolution and change from 800x480 to 1280x480 or to…….?
I still have to confirm this but believe it could be the settings for the F30 / 31. Wanted to share this for everybody with the same issue.

@@FritzRamos Hi Fritz, I found the problem with my BMW and it is all about the Head Unit version and not the model of the car. I drive a 2013 F31 that has a HU_CICHB Unit and this version can not be set to 8,8 or 10,25 resolution. That is why I miss these options. The only setting available is wide screen (Display_Variante = breites) and then I can choose the 6.5 inch widescreen in factory setup but the resolution is not perfect so I prefer the split screen. Only OEM BMW navigation looks better in wide screen. Not a big problem because the Android screen is just great in HD 10,25 inch exact like in your video’s and the best upgrade for my BMW.
The other settings are probably for cars with the HU_NBT (EVO) and I hear that also the EntryNav version can be set to 8,8 or 10,25 (1280x480 or higher) I noticed in your video you have the HU_NBT. (see the header under Headunit in main screen Bimmercode) Hope this helps other BMW owners. Thanks for the great video’s.

What are the differences between the 4 screen types to select? I had the 6.6 inch version and I upgraded to the 8.8 inch android version.

Hello, nice Video so far. Mine doesnt really want to work. Do you guys have any Idea why? i cam from a 2017 F21 with the buisness navigation (6.5) and tried to code it like in the video but i have always a 2-3 inch black space on the right sight and i dont know why. Any advise?
great video, very helpful. i noticed that when viewing sport displays, it's slightly off to the right, i'm wondering maybe the 1600 x 600 resolution is causing this, im gonna try the 1280 x 480 to see if it comes out cleaner. i'm ocd lol

UPDATE: tried the 1280 x 480, and even switched back and forth, made no difference...for both the idrive and android sides, therefore, i left it in 1280 x 480 mode, what was your rationale for 1600 x 600?
I think because it's an android tablet the resolution is a little better so it can handle it. As far as it being a little off, it most likely will be. The code we are adjusting is meant to go with the bmw screen which I believe is a little shorter and longer. The android screen is taller and shorter.
Hi @fritz I have a 2011 BMW 740li it has an CIC system and using 6.5 inch screen, I went to eBay to buy a preowned 10.25 inch screen OEM from BMW 7 series. I tried to install it there are issues like it has double lines when i installed it. I have a bimmercode app and I tried looking for the display settings on the 3000 HMI but I couldn't find it. So when you put it in reverse the android parking assist comes up not the BMW?

It should. Check the demo mode for your car and see if you have the codes first. The demo mode shows you everything that the app can do for your car

what if you didn't have a screen and added a 10.5 by cutting the dash to install and I only had the professional HU 2011 e90

Hello. I have bmw e60 6.5in display without nav and bt M-ASK system idrive. I just got an android HU 10.25in CCC display. Everything works sounds, radio, cd. But when I go to orig car menu, it says no signal on the display. Does it need to be coded? Can bimmercode fix the issue of no signal on idrive? Will it be the same with your procedure. Thank you! I still have it, honestly I like it. Once it boots up completely, there's no lag at all. Sad thing is it takes just under 5 minutes

@@kishos.k2873 it might, but if you only plan on running basic apps like mirror screen, carplay, or nav I don't see it making that big of a difference. If you plan on doing more than that it would be more noticeable

You need the paid version to change your cars code, but if you just want to look if bimmercode has the necessary codes for your cars that can be done on the free version.

I have not seen anything in the aftermarket space so far, but I would imagine that you could take an oem one from another car.

No. If you upgraded to a bigger screen you can does this in. That's what I did
It doesn’t seem working on F30 2018 equipped with the original 10.5” iDrive display.
Did a scroll down the 3000 HMI list and found CARPLAY_FULLSCREEN, then activated. However it just set the Apple CarPlay area to blank. All the App icons remained in the same position, no display stretch, no other changes.

No the idrive knob does not work with the android side of things. I was disappointed when I found out, but you get used to it.

Double check that your connections are fully engaged. If so try something like electronics cleaner amzn.to/3g3Bzx9 for the connection points. If the problem still persist request a replacement unit
@@FritzRamos I see. However, when it is set to 6.5" full screen it has black bars at the side and it is magnified and stretch. Idk if this is also an connection issue. I really hope i could fix this issue as i have a reverse camera and it is affecting it badly! Thanks!

Is the screen adjustment the same thing that everyone seems to be charging $40 to $200 to do for CarPlay?
I'm not sure. Personally my carplay is a bit stretched, but while I'm driving it doesn't really bother me.

Great video Fritz, but I think u need to update this video. BimmerCode is not the best choice to code the screen... I have a 2016 228i and BimmerCode could not code my screen. 1/3 of the screen was black, no matter what I did. Used E-sys and coding was successful on first try, full screen goodness at 1600X600.... don’t wanna call BimmerCode trash, it’s good for some things, but E-sys is the better choice.

2012 328 upgraded to a 335i screen 8.8 (L7)
Purchased this on eBay. Apparently it is for 335i models only.
I realized their small description on the bottom stated it will only fit 335i N55 models.

Same thing happened to be the first time around. Check the fuse box in the trunk of the car under the trunk liner. Reference your fuse sheet to find the blown fuse.
@@FritzRamos Ended up finding a solution apparently the production date for my car is before a certain thing was available so apparently I won’t be able to code it I have to swap everything out which is going to cost me over 2000

I played with bimmercode, and the screen will turn off by accident. How to change the settings in bimmercode to bring back the idrive screen? By the way I tried restore did not work. Thanks
I haven't had this problem. Try checking if you plug is fully secured to the screen
I managed to do this without bimmercode just enter the factory settings using 1368 pin the choose display size although it does look stretched

Like the code is different? The manufacturer should be able to tell you the code
when i do factory reset it just showed it powered off and back on. then i turned off/on the car following the video but still getting split. I cannot send picture here right?
