@@Franz. I would have disagreed and said that this should be called the Merc-sama, but the interior quality isn't really that great and the engines are quite weak compared to some other pick ups.

Pretty embarrassing that Mercedes would actually release a vehicle like that with their badge on it. Why did they bother, its hideous and in no way, shape or form premium.

@JazzFunkSouldier keep telling yourself that. There is a video of an owner pointing out the Nissan and Renault stickers and stamps on his Xclass and it basically covered the entire vehicle, he admitted its just a Nissan in an expensive dress
@@interceptor-ss8kb the 350 is manufactured by Merc and comes out of Daimler AG
@@interceptor-ss8kb and the panels are all diffrent, discs all round on the Merc, the tubs are smaller on the Nav the body is 70mm wider on the merc, as is the track.

Why would anyone in their right mind would buy a Toyota diesel in this day and age. They are pretty well know for DPF issues where i live.
Question is will there be an AMG version of it?
Hope the updates to the x class will fix these issues cause if your paying the premium for the Mercedes badge you should get Mercedes quality inside. It’s still cool though.

It's a Nissan Navara with a Mercedes badge and a Mercedes interior. So really a Nissan. So not posh.

X Class is NP300 Navara based. While the SUV version is Nissan Terra.
hard scratchy plastic holds up better to mud and crud than soft touch plastics and leather.
Cadillac is the only premium brand in the world that pulled off a true "Luxury Truck" with the Escalade EXT. It's got such a unique shape and look to it.
This makes basically as much sense as the Aston Martin Cygnet (each on its category of course)

I always wish Carbuyer would somehow show us how the dash and interior look from the driver's seating position. It would make it clear how the interior presents itself to the driver.
if it’s a pickup ur probably not gonna want the materials to be too premium because it’s meant for work which eliminates the complaint of cheap plastic

The Interior Is not what you might except from a premium pickup. It should feature soft touch materials rather than hard plastics

Remember People this is just a prototype they are studying if a premium pickup truck segment exists and i think now even mercedes benz saying it has cancel it but wait for 5-7 years they will show the 2nd gen with an all new platform and no shared components to lesser brands

Honda took the Pilot and made a Ridgeline, and it was an instant hit. Mercedes could have followed the same formula and made a pickup from the GLS-Class SUV. North American buyers would go crazy for it.
People forget this is a pickup truck. Yes the price is a bit ridiculous compared to the actual Nissan, but the reviewer surely can't expect leather all over and soft touch materials especially if its expected to be doing light to heavy duty jobs.

It’s not even close to luxury it’s a Nissan with a bodykit which makes it look worse than the Navara
Cadillac tried the same thing with the Escalade EXT and Lincoln did the same as well (to copy Cadillac)
Travis McQuaig at least they were somewhat luxurious. This is expensive yet still basic, nasty and poorly made just like a lot of Nissan/Renault cars... except this one has a star on it.

It’s a hybrid = Merc + Nissan
Only a fine luxury brand like Mercedes-Benz could make a truck and make it better than every American truck. And make it at its own time without ford and Chevrolet always copying each other. When Ford redesigned the F-150 Chevrolet had to redesign the Silverado. Same with the 2018 mustang and now Chevy is redesigning the camero🤨. It’s a lovely truck and I would rather drive this than every other truck on the market
I'd still take a Sierra Denali or an Escalade EXT over this Nissan.

P B you can import ram, even with the VAT it is cheaper than the benz with way more tech, v8 engine, and better quality
Think of it this way you can use Nissan replacement parts they are much cheaper

People fail to understand Daimler and nissan have a partnership in automobiles you cannot pinpoint the issues in a cabin just because it's a mercedes. Mercs are solid cars and most parts if not every part is environmentally friendly bar emissions...most parts can be recycled in a mercedes whereas other brands who normally spend more on quality cannot have their parts recycled .... in that aspect you have to give credit where it's due. .. audi and bmw use more resources to build quality stuff but their cars are slightly cheaper than mercs. They're definitely operating at a loss just to compete with Mercedes... by the way I own a bmw 3 series and I love it... but have to say the truth...
might as well get a cheaper nissan navvaro pickup and slap a mercedes badge on the front and rear grill!!

The Nissan Navara seems to look better than this. To be honest the new Mercedes look also does not look good on the Navara.

I understand why they did not bring this to the U.S. It would not survive with competitors like Ford, Toyota, and GM.
You are better off getting a F-150 Platinum or a GMC Sierra Denail if you want a real luxury truck.

At least 90% of all these features are available on the Nissan Navara Tekna doube cab for far less money, even the V6 diesel engine - a friend has one for his work horse.
Women will see the badge and want this Nissan regardless. It works with the fwd A class and it's eco roots so why not.
