      Do you recommend getting the (male hormone advanced test), I'm 58 and have all the symptoms. I'm just curious to why are there four different test if low testosterone is the treatment.

    I also had very low libido, Mood changes, just not myself at all. I had gained a ton of weight, loss of muscle, hair loss & just tired all of the time. The final thing was my nipples started feeling tender underneath... Which lead to me finally thinking i had a major problem. I am 5'6" tall my weight was always between 145- 160. Over 2.5 yrs i had shot up to 265lbs!! I wasn't in gym, i was still walking, riding bike 10 miles a day... No changes. After going to the endocrinologist, i found out I have hypogonadism & my testosterone levels were under 100. 1 month after starting testosterone cypionate, I felt less depressed & motivated to change. I began going to the gym. After 8 months of being on trt, eating healthy (cut out sugars, complex carbs, soda, no fast food, no breads or pasta). Eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, grilled chicken breast, white fish, tuna, salmon, fruits , vegetables, yogurt & intermittent fasting. 1 got to 176lbs solid. My arms changed from 12"-17" & I could see my 6 pack!l A total body transformation. I was 265 soft to 180 solid n feeling great!! Yes I go to the gym 6 days a week & put in a ton of hard, hard work. TRT treatment changed my whole outlook on life. I made a main goal to reach. Then at the same time I made small goals like lose 10 lbs., fit into an xl shirt, finally reach weight under 200lbs on scale, alot of times i didnt see the weight loss on the scale because i was also gaining muscle. I love your channel. It is informative & to the point. Keep up the Good Work, its appreciated!!

Depression & lack of motivation for over a year, no libido (physical and mentally effected), zero energy, lost all muscle "gains" from college. I just want to say thank you for creating this content. As someone who recently started this journey, it's comforting to find people like you who are willing to talk publicly about ongoing physical & mental changes and the effects of TRT. *I currently take 100/mg of cypionate a week, and as of now have only really seen (very) positive changes with my libido. Hello, I lost my wife of 30 years almost 3 years ago. Also, I have a high functioning autistic adult son that lives with me. In addition I am a diabetic was on insulin and meds. I knew after the passing of my wife that I had to get healthier because my son needs me around as long as I can be. I’m in my early 50’s, 5’10”. I was around 320lbs and so very tired, depressed, difficulty sleeping, and getting weaker physically......just basically a mess. I got on a low carb diet and have lost down to the 250’s in weight on just the diet alone, and have been able to get off all my insulin. I still take my diabetic pills, but have been able to keep my blood sugar levels down with just those and diet. I still though have noticed that as far as strength, I’m still no where I feel I should be. So I have started going to the gym and hired a physical trainer that works with me and my son ( my son is in his early 20’s and in good shape, but thought it would be a great activity we could do together). After seeing how weak I had gotten in the amount of weight I could lift, I decided to get my testosterone checked, and it came back this week that I am indeed low in testosterone. So I start TRT next week and am hoping I see the results like what all you guys have been reporting on this page. Looking so forward to the journey ahead !

    I found myself tired, even after a good night's sleep. Taking frequent naps. Couldn't get motivated to take on projects. I'll turn 70 in tow months. I was discouraged to think that this is how I'd be for the rest of my life. A friend told me she'd gotten on TRT and it was working for her. So I got tested. Sure enough. Low T. Doctor put me on weekly injections. Just had my second injection today. I did some errands and felt really "up" today. May have been psychological due to that second injection, or it might have been a little high from the injection itself. Don't know why, but I enjoyed the rush of energy and the good mood. I was singing with the B-52's in the car. Bottom line is that I am optimistic that my energy and motivation will return. I'm entering my end game now and I want it to be my "Golden Years" rather than my "Long, Cold Winter." Fingers crossed. I watched your early videos. Your story has really encouraged me. :-)

Since Oct 2018 I have had regular bloodwork with my highest T at 289 (Low 150). Dr's wanted to see if diet and exercise would help. ( I have been an avid hockey player and cyclist for years so I didn't have a lot of hope that "doing more" would increase my T.) Ruled out pituitary adenoma through multiple head CT scans. Used Clomid for 4 months and hated the side effects and really didn't raise T. Start injections next week and have learned a lot from this channel. Of course there were the libido-related issues, but I wasn't sure how much of a red flag they were. I had also felt like quitting my somewhat physical job and finding a desk job where I only lifted pieces of paper.
    Looking back, difficulty sleeping was a surprisingly important symptom. I can now sleep so much better, and it actually helps to clear my head (brain-fog). I recently learned that sleep and dementia are related, so I suspect I have increased the quality of my life in many, many ways.

      @@trtcommunity9248 Will do. I did have a previous meeting because I was working with a reproduction specialist with my wife. This is where they found low testosterone. The doctor put me on Clomid, but I did not like what it did. I was good for a few weeks and a month in I started having terrible mood swings. I think it was the drop in estrogen. I stopped taking it and found a new doctor. I will say my primary care didn't want anything to do with this. She just checked my thyroid (AGAIN). It is always normal. I got the same advice that T gives men heart attacks, so avoid it, but she had no problem with me reaching out to a specialist. I am researching TRT and heart attacks at the moment. There are a lot of really interesting studies debunking this. At this time my levels are around 250 ish.

    I found out i have low T because of my partner. She has Hashimotos thyroidosis which is an auto immune disease that affects your thyroid. She said i presented a lot of the same symptoms she had so i should get myself checked out. My doctor tried to prescribe me anti depressants (here in england doctors dont have ANY knowledge on testosterone or trt!!) and i wasnt happy with it so i ordered my own blood tests. Sure enough it came back and my levels of free t @ 29 years of age were 180 and lower on my second test, i went last week to a private specialist and he said i do have hashimotos as well as hypogonadism which usually goes hand in hand. Started my first treatment this morning and i cant wait to see how it goes!!

    Had every test possible done. Brain mri, X-rays, blood tests, etc. found out my T was 193/8. Doctor said it’s extremely likely that’s been the cause of everything. I really appreciate you putting yourself out there for the benefit of others. This is an issue that, at 35 years old, I would've never expected to happen so early. To kind of put my nuts on the chopping block, so to speak, I noticed something was seriously wrong when I was romatically involved with a RIDICULOUSLY hot 45-year-old woman and I lost my erection...twice. It DESTROYED me inside. I immediately became insecure and self-conscious, and our romantic fling fizzled out shortly thereafter (almost solely due to me pulling away from her). I went to the doctor's and had a full blood panel run because I was worried that I might be diabetic and diabetes runs in my family. After what felt like the longest 2 days of my life, I received a call from my doctor's office informing me that I'm not diabetic (whew!), but that my testosterone levels "WERE a little low". I immediately made a follow-up appointment to talk about what actions we should take, but I ended up chickening out -- for what reason, I don't really know. Maybe it was my brain's way of saying "if you ignore it, maybe it'll go away". Anyway, after listening to your story and the guts that took (not to mention the dozens of others in the comments who've experienced the same issues), I'm going to make an appointment and take care of this problem before it gets any worse. Much respect, sir.

    I am 39 years old and found out I have hormonal issues a few months ago. Notice I didn't say "low T". My testosterone level is considered normal (400s). My gonadotropins, however, are not nornal. I have testicular failure. The way I discovered I have a hormonal issue was very round about. First I was diagnosed with low bone density for age aka osteoporosis. This led me to do some research into reasons MEN get Osteoporosis. I found a syndrome called Klinefelter's. The symptoms sounded A LOT like me. The only way to prove it is to get a genetic test, so I did. Turns out my research was spot on. I was diagnosed as 47 XXY/Klinefelter's Syndrome. People with Klinefelter's have hypogonadism and are infertile. My endocrinologist didn't want to treat me with TRT because my testosterone is "normal", despite all the known issues I'm dealing with - the genetic disorder and Osteoporosis. I went back to see my Dr just last week and told him all the symptoms I'm going through: fatigue, brain fog, depression, and more. He changed his mind and wrote me a prescription for Androgel. Problem is insurance denied coverage. We are appealing it. I wrote an appeal letter just today. I'm hoping that I will be able to get on TRT sooner rather than later. I'm hopeful that TRT is what my body has been waiting for all these years. I'm hoping things will really turn around for me. In the meantime, I am enjoying your videos. Thanks for the help!

    Ian from UK here. Over here, you go to the doctors with these symptoms, they send you away with ‘get more exercise and eat better’ but when you’re a martial artist and fitness enthusiast like me, you know that’s complete rubbish. So, you stick to the antidepressants despite there being nothing wrong in your life to be ‘depressed’ about. After doing my own research my Doctor actually leant across the desk (without doing any tests) and said firmly ‘You do not need testosterone!’ So, after speaking to my best friend who lives in the states, I went to my other friends over here (in the gym) and got it myself. Within 2 months I dropped the antidepressants and for 3 years now I’ve felt great and as a 40 year old, I’ve replicated the body I had in my early 20’s. There’s literally no knowledge in the UK about this and men are simply suffering and/or being put on antidepressants.

      TRT Community It’s sad but true. It’s only through you tube creators like yourself, that I learnt to understand what was wrong with me. Being successful and having a beautiful family, home and job I enjoyed, always been in the gym for 6 days a week since I was a young boy, it felt very weird to be feeling the way I did and that I was somehow ungrateful for feeling ‘depressed’. ‘Snap out of it’ is the strap-line of the uneducated and uninitiated too. I’m not sure it will change over here, as we have a national health service and local regional surgery’s we have to attend by postcode, whereas in the states you have the choice to get 2nd opinions. They don’t do anything that would ‘cost’ more than their budget or target allows. Thanks for making such informative content. Do you have any tips on dealing with acne? Peter Blake Hi Peter. I’ve actually started a ‘change.org’ petition yesterday evening, because I’m actually convinced that many male suicides (27 lives lost in every 1000 last year) is due to inaccurate diagnosis of chronically low testosterone levels. In all honesty, no, I’ve had no luck at all and my friends in the states tell me how it is over there and I’m shocked. Anti depressants are a remedy for neurological chemical imbalances, not hormonal ones, so they will likely have no effect anyway. I self medicate and have for a long time, after years of antidepressants doing absolutely nothing. It’s not so difficult if you just listen to your body and purchase a few home testers to watch your cholesterol levels etc. Unfortunately, over here it seems we don’t have much choice.

      When I was suspected that something was wrong/abnormal I went to see a general practice doctor that was close to my house. He checked me out and then did blood work. Since we didn't know what the problem was exactly he had them check for a lot of things. After my blood work came back, turns out my T level was very low.
      So for the sake of it being easier to get in and probably less expensive, I'd say start with a visit to your general doctor. If he/she ends up not being very helpful, then maybe consider a specialist.

      I took the natural route. I tested @ 200 ng/dl at age 18. Fast forward 8 years, and my levels increased to 940 ng/dl. If your levels don't budge after continuous effort, then resort to TRT.
      I'm glad I didn't go with TRT because I've been able to learn a lot about hormones. I've developed my own system to maintain higher testosterone. Most people without genetic defects can reasonably recharge their levels within range... The main concept that i follow is the Law of Conservation of Energy.

    I've skipped around a few of your videos and have not notice you mention what the doctor said your T was at. Just had my blood work come back and my T was at 87 which is as he put it "shockingly" low. I'm 40 yrs old and look and feel like crap. The doctor requested more tests to see if I'm a candidate for clomid or if injection is the best way to go. Until my new tests come back he gave me one shot at the office. I'll see how I feel in about a week or so.

      Forgive my slow reply. When I first got tested my T level came back at 183 if I recall. My insurance at the time required a 2nd test two weeks later. That test came back at 202. My doctor said he recommends TRT for anyone with 300 or less.
      It's good that your doctor is running more tests. He's trying to figure out if you have primary or secondary hypogonadism (low T). Primary means the problem is with your testes. They're getting proper signals for the brain, but they just can't make proper amounts of T anymore. TRT is the answer for that.
      Secondary is when your testes are fine, but they're not getting proper signals from something that's going on up by the brain. Clomid works in this case.

    Trt community I would like to know if one takes trt and then stops using it after say a couple of years, does this lower the body's natural testosterone level even more? Basically does it decrease the natural testosterone production rate even more?

    • @trtcommunity9248
      @trtcommunity9248  Pƙed 5 lety

      Good question. Thanks for asking.
      I'm assuming you're injecting because you have hypogonadism (Low T). The most common form of hypogonadism is primary hypo. This means the testes aren't functioning like they're supposed to any more.
      Normally, the brain would be able to tell if T is getting low, and it sends signals to the testes to produce more, and so they do. But once you start injecting T, the brain notices the T in the system and stops sending signals to the testes to produce. So they basically shut down because you're giving yourself T from now on. That's why some people even get testicular atrophy while on TRT.
      So once you begin TRT you're basically on it for life. Your testes, which aren't working right anyway, will have a hard time coming back online if you stop injecting T. Even if you did stop you've still hypogonadism, so...they're not going to work right anyway.
      Hope this helps a little. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      You also have albumin bound T which has a weaker affinity to testosterone relative to shbg. Therefore, higher Total T is important as well..
      Consider two scenarios Let both males have equivalent genetics.
      (1) male A has total T of 500 ng/dl and free T of 7 ng/dl
      (2) male B has a total T of 1000 ng/dl and free T of 7 ng/dl.
      For these cases, male B will exhibit more physiological benefits at the tissue level.

    Can you just clarify something for me? I was under the impression that male pattern baldness is due to the effects of DHT in those men who have a genetic predisposition (the baldness gene). Whether the rate/degree of hair recession is related to the level of DHT, I am unsure. But, how can this be explained by testosterone deficiency? After all, both men with high testosterone levels and low testosterone levels will have some of their testosterone converted to DHT (by 5-alpha reductase). DHT, which is derived from testosterone, promotes facial hair and chest hair, but on the scalp hair it has the OPPOSITE effect: it causes miniaturisation of the scalp hair follicles (but only in those men who have the baldness gene). In fact, some hypogonadal men who needed to go on TRT experienced frontal and temporal hair recession as their DHT levels increased from the TRT. So, I am confused: how can low testosterone (hypogonadism) result in hair recession on the scalp, when DHT is mainly responsible, and even those men who have low testosterone will produce at least some DHT.

Well 6 months after my blood sugar is down 30 points and I lost 56 lbs. without trying. My "T" is now 300 to 400 and I fell great. Loosing your hair is not a sign of low testosterone. Testosterone is 5 alpha reduced to DHT which caused hair loss (if genetically predisposed) Therefore more Test means more DHT.

    • @davidomeara4704
      @davidomeara4704 Pƙed 5 lety

      @Mr Bones Ninja Maker No its not, that is complete nonsense. As explained above testosterone is reduced to dihydrotestosterone (a much more potent androgen that is expressed) via the 5 alpha reductase enzyme. There is a large presence of 5 Alpha reductase in the prostate and scalp of those predisposed to male pattern baldness. The reason it happens happens slowly as we age is due to the nature of hair loss. It progressively thins and often isn't noticeable until you have lost roughly 40% of your density.

    • @thepigmanlives6721
      @thepigmanlives6721 Pƙed 5 lety

      Mr Bones when you lose hair when your older it’s most likely male patter baldness, which the main key player is DHT. The higher the testosterone the higher the DHT. Some people are more sensitive to DHT then others.

    • @brokenchopstickz
      @brokenchopstickz Pƙed 5 lety

      Your right about one thing. Being on cycles of T will cause baldness in some men. However if hereditary baldness runs in your family its not sign of low t.

    • @hurlentropy6866
      @hurlentropy6866 Pƙed 3 lety

      It depends on androgen sensitivity within the scalp. Therefore, a male with lower T and high conversion to DHT can easily lose hair if sensitivity is high.

      @@beanieweenie9543 Yes, I had to do 2 tests as well so my insurance would cover it. Some general practice doctors are a little nervous about prescribing TRT since it's a controlled substance and still has a bit of a reputation for being equal to steroids in some areas.
      But, I will say that I think it's wise of your doctor to recommend you to a specialist because there are different types of hypogonadism (low T).
      Primary Hypogonadism means the problem is with your testes. They're not producing sufficient amounts of T anymore. This is the most common form of hypogonadism and is fixed with TRT.
      Secondary Hypogonadism means there's a problem lies around the brain area. Your testes are fine but they're not receiving the right signals from the brain anymore telling them when and how much T to produce. This type of problem requires something different than testosterone. It requires something that mimics those signals from the brain.
      A urologist will be able to test your further and determine exactly how to treat you. The visit should be covered by insurance as well, but even if it's not at least you'll know exactly where the problem lies and how to treat it.

    Hy community :)
    It started over one and a half year ago. Those times I was nearly horny every day at the age of 38, I was training hard and had an athletic body - and no, I never took any steroids.
    Gradually I nearly suddenly took on much weight, about 6 kg in some weeks. I felt lethargic and even today I feel like crap, nearly no libido, low energy, very irritable and I cant really describe but an overwhelming fatigue all day long, regardless I slept long enough.
    Long story short: After my blood work was done, my doctor asked me If I ever have taken steroids *ROFL* :D My test was about 257 in total, LH about 3,5. I was told to relax more. After 2 months I took it again and I was at 431, still feeling shit, but better. Now I tested and I was on 226 total.
    So my doctor wants me to put on TRT now :D I am excited and happy when I think how I felt with 20 ;-) But on the other hand I still cant understand how rapidly my overall health dropped, apparently only by Testosterone... so I will take some more research and then hopefully get on TRT.

      Believe me, getting on TRT is going to help you so much. The depressed mood, lack of energy, brain fog, and lack of motivation you’re (more than likely) experiencing will all get better. If you’re like me your symptoms will get better little by little over the first month or two, so be patient. But I did notice my energy return the week after my first injection.
      I’ll be here along the way if you have any questions or concerns.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

      Exactly. I have the testosterone of a adult female. I just received these results yesterday morning and I'm still trying to phantom this. Thank you for your words of encouragement. I was wondering where all my weight gains was coming from, out of nowhere I would gain 10lbs or more a week here recently. I'm just hoping my Dr doese something quickly. With test levels that low, I'm wondering if I don't have an underlying disease. Maybe I won't even be here much longer to share with you a complete turn around, but let's hope for the best. Thanks again for your reply, it means the world to know someone cares.

      My pleasure. I made this channel to help guys just like you. Please check out my other videos if you haven’t already. Maybe you can learn some things that might help you avoid some bumps in the road once you get started on your journey.
      I remember those feelings of hopelessness and low self esteem. Don’t worry, your hormones affect so much about your wellbeing. Once you get those in check, you’ll start feeling a lot better.
      I’ll be praying for you too, ok. God bless.

      @@trtcommunity9248 I just started 100mg every two weeks of T. They said they wanted to start me off with a lower dose, just to see how it effects my body. I will be following your channel and learning as much as I can. Again, thank you for your kind and generous replies, words of wisdom & encouragement.

      It's been a year my friend. I'm a totally different person now. I take 240 MG a week with 2 MG of arimidex. Split into two shots per week. Grew a beard, lost weight and still seeing major changes. Thanks for your content.

    Has anyone with low T experiance really bad joint pains knees shoulder and wrist , along with the normal low energy and the usual symptoms , it's almost for me like a feeling of dying somehow , and all test come back in the normal limits , except my T is in the really low range at about 170 ,just curious if anyone else has the bad aching joints too

      Yes. When my T was low I had such bad knee pain. It got better and better once I started TRT. Took some time but much less joint pain now.
