- It's kind of funny to notice how people have started to treat me differently over the years of my vision loss. Most notably is how they completely disregard me. Since I used to be able to see and I was part of that "judge by first looks" society, a part of me understands it. I get it. I really do. To say that it upsets me at this point would be overstating it. with the perspective I have, it pretty much just makes me laugh a little bit inside. It's ok to judge. It doesn't' mean you're right though.

I'm a wheelchair user and people forget that it's my legs don't work and not my brain and mouth word place. Take care dude love what you guys do but I'm not showing this to the wife, eye candy guy 😉.
Definitely one of the best minds in the world was trapped in his own body, but he is still arguably the greatest mind of our generation: Steven Hawking! I love saying that fact when someone says something about someone I like, and their disabilities.

The issue that I've realized as most people are just ableist, Just putting it the most straightforward way. Most of my experiences of being talked to is either being talked down to or being pitied.

Part of me wishes you had time to mentor a newly blind kids that way you could break this stereotype
The issue is though everyone will continue just to talk down to you. Hell, I go to a school for the blind and everyone there talks down to you aside from your main teachers that you see everyday.
To be honest though, it is currently getting sued for oppressing the first amendment so I'm not surprise.

Most people assume if you're so disabled you don't need to work, that you can't. People assume those in wheelchairs can't work, as well as those with guide dogs.
