Have you found it? I tried to look through your videos and I don't see anything about the teleporter to the Ark (unless I missed it).
In Halo Reach, Bungie said there was an additional level cut after Kat dies when they leave the bunker, is there anything left from this if you detach cam and look around that cutscene?

That image is what we call a matte painting and the trick with the layers is called parallax so correct.

This is where chief is in the halo infinite trailer. He's gonna find a portal that brings him back in time, where he saves Jonhson, saves cortana, prevents the discovery of the halo rings after they got destroyed by the flood army like we see in the first part of the trailer, fights all the floods and covenant and precursors in different eras, jummping into infinite timelines hence the halo infinite title.
You thought a better plot than the Halo 5 one.
@@kemerios1 Thats honestly a terrible plot. Just retconn everything from time travel? They should just drop 4 and 5 from lore and do a reboot of the 2nd trilogy. They essentially even said that by calling it a "spiritual reboot"

Halo 4 also used quite a few of these "2D pop out" effects, one notable example is on that multiplayer map set at night on a skyscraper, a lot of the skybox uses this technique on the buildings and such. I find it really neat, adds this artistic "painting" feel to Halo. Older games would even use just 2D textures for a lot of stuff to suggest scale and detail with things far to large to model or render at the time: Mombasa's skyline and the Covenant Carrier in Metropolis for example
I've beat ODST on Legendary, but I never saw this, what the heck?
The camera technique is called forced perspective. They used the same thing on the Lord of the Rings for certain shots to make Gandalf appear larger than the hobbits when in reality he is just closer to the camera, matching his eyeline, and the table is split apart between the actors and angled to make the split invisible and the table look smaller.

I think ONI too believed that the Ark is under New Mombasa . I think only Truth knew that it's actually just the portal to the Ark .

I've played Halo 3 ODST campaign and completed it but not on Legendary difficulty. I'll have to replay it again and get this ending. I've never seen it before.

Its a common technique used in mate painting for movies today in softwares like nuke and its kind of the same analog technique that is the multi plane camera. Disney pioneered this technique of layering images painted on glass back in the early days of 2D animated movies to fake depth. In the game the effect is used to save polys.
You are right, it is called a parallax process. I don’t think Disney came up with this effect, but they did popularize the multiplane camera which made producing a parallax effect easier and more commonplace. There’s some cool videos about their camera if you look it up.

If it's the same cave that the Superintendent is built in, then does that mean that the UEG knew about the portal before the covenant dug it up?
I think everyone believed that the Ark is under New Mombasa . If the Vergil knew that, the UNSC and the Covenant Separatists would've immediatley followed Truth after he activated the portal in Halo 3 . So I don't think the Superintedent knew that was just only the portal . And remember Halo 3 ODST takes place before Halo 3 .
I know this is 3 years old but one of the audio logs in odst talks how sadies father says oni found something under the city, so it was possible a recent discovery in terms of game timeline, possibly a little before halo 2 started if i had to guess

This effect is called "parallax" mostly to create fake movement or depth by moving plane textures objects or even just only textures on the object. Everything to save calculation power, get more efficiency/fps and save memory of course than just using real 3d geometry and wasting power to calculate it every frame

...This might tie into Halo 4 somewhat. To my memory, before the Infinity departed, it recieved word of a forerunner artifact that had the quardinates for Requium on it. If my logical mind is right, this came from the Composer on instalation 03 but if my brain mind is right, they found it on or near the portal to the ark. Not sure. Need to review the cutscene.
