    After a brilliant 3 days spotting at Skiathos it was unfortunately time to head back the grey and very wet UK. Literally.
    This was flight TOM7535 on June 7th 2019. Note to all aviation fans out there, row 16 & 17 do not have a window on TUI 757's. They have 1 window between them. So for me in row 16 the window was about where the back of my seat was and 17 would have to lean right forward to see out of it. So not ideal, choose your seats wisely. Flight was slightly delayed arriving into Skiathos because of limited parking space on the ground so boarding was rushed and we were all told to take our seats quickly. Once pushed back and engine started we taxiied and backtracked for departure on the notorious RWY01 at Skiathos. Blasting away towards the north we made a slight left turn and headed for the north west and mainland Europe.
    Once airborne some beautiful views of the coastline and a few nice air to air shots over Europe as well. I had a flick through the food menu as well so you can see what sorts of meal deals are available as well as prices onboard, which in all honesty weren't bad at all.
    Once on the descent we were told the weather in BHX was not great. Gusty wind, low visibility and driving rain. Just what you'd expect from June in the UK really. So lots of cloud during the descent other than a few glimpses of London through the breaks during the initial descent not a lot to see until we finally broke through the clouds on final approach into Birmingham's RWY15.

    Fun fact this exact 757 was the one involved in the well documented birdstrike during its departure from Manchester over 12 years ago.
    Be sure to check out the incredible planespotting video taken in Skiathos that week with lots of low landings and powerful jetblast! • SKIATHOS AIRPORT 2019 ...
    Also look out for the outbound flight, taken onboard another gorgeous TUI 757. Just from a much better seat: • TUI Boeing 757-28A | B...
    As always by Full Flight I don't mean the video is a full 3 hours + long. I mean that the video includes all stages of the flight from departure until arrival and everything inbetween.

    Great video of this stunning TUI 757 man (and G-OOBA at the start). This particular one (G-BYAW) was the Thomsonfly 757 which was involved in a bird strike at Manchester (bound for Lanzarote) a fair few years back. I myself have never visited Skiathos but would love to do so in the future.

      Aviation LBA that’s so weird! I was thinking about the 757 bird strike whilst watching the engines at the start

    I hope you took advantage of Skiathos airport cafe and parking lot next to the runway to do some planespotting and jetblasting..They dont call the St.Maarten of Europe for nothing..And getting jetblasted by a TUI 757, the biggest aircraft Skiathos can handle,is just an unforgettable experience..Did it back in 2018!!

      @Darryl daniel george Bish It's interesting that a Boeing 757200 and 757300 can sound different.

    • @heatherstub
      @heatherstub Před 5 lety

      @Darryl daniel george Bish Hi, Darryl. I actually did compare the two, and they do sound exactly alike, and they are a bit different from the B7378. The jet scream is a little lower at nearly an G sharp or A flat, while the scream of the B7378 is nearly a C natural. The bottom is super close to the bottom note of the B7378. It's nearly an F natural. Sometimes, it's even right on the F natural. You're pretty good. Do you have an ear for music? Oh, and the B757200 and B757300 are exactly the same. Sorry about that. I didn't quite make that clear at the beginning. You must fly a lot. I miss it so much.

    • @heatherstub
      @heatherstub Před 5 lety

      @Darryl daniel george Bish Now at takeoff, that bottom note became a D natural. I imagine it picking back up, but sometimes, depending on the wind and the weather, the captain may power the engines down a bit to make the bumps a little bit easier on the passengers.

    • @heatherstub
      @heatherstub Před 5 lety

      @Darryl daniel george Bish Also, the top note is a G natural on this one, but that may change if he spools them up to full power. It's always hard to know ahead of time what the engines are going to sound like. There've been times when my ears get so much pressure that the plane seems to change pitch, i.e. the actual musical note, not the banking of the aircraft. Hope that you got that.
