    Getting the eyes right is one of the main cuts that you have to think about

    You need to wear gloves because I sliced the tip of my finger not bad just enough to burn and drip a little

      Thank you Mark. The knives are from North Bay Forge ( northbayforge.com/sn.htm). They make the best carving knives I have used. 👍✌️

    Great video , im in the learning process and very informative, Can I ask what kind of knife you were using? Seems so much sharper than what I use ,,,,

      Wood: 1x Pine from big box store
      Knife: North Bay Forge (modified)
      To sharpen/hone a knife I typically use a ceramic stone, followed by a lot of stropping on leather using both green and yellow compounds.

    I use a razor knife ne abuse I can’t a decent carving knife in stock and now that I got Covid yesterday it’s going to be awhile before I can get back carving cause Covid is so 😓

      Knife: North Bay Forge (modified) - it was their "Double Edge Straight Knife," but I ground off the second edge.
