I purchased this game last night and so far im thoroughly enjoying the experience, consoles need more true rts, and builder/empire games. The biggest fun is upgrading your troops armor and watching them get heavier and choosing a specialization for each individual squad. You have formation choices, traps, and specials, combat is kind of rock paper scissors, with a twist. Moral, flanking, armor, and specializations play a huge role. The key to resource management in this game is control of towns, which you take by burning down then recapturing. The combat animations are pretty cool too! Its quite fun, and if you're on console there isnt much to choose from as far as rts games go. Overall so far i give it an 8/10 . It needs a few things but its so far so good and fun to play!
Can you make your own battels?
Yes you can. The A. I isnt the smartest though. After you capture all of the towns or most of them on the map they usually stay near or in their camp and go into defensive mode. Unless you play domination mode. But yes you can make custom skirmish matches

@@lilhector555 you can have 10 squads, so up to 100 soldiers. It doesnt seem like alot but when you max out your army its fairly large, considering 3v3 that's a 600 troop battle. You can also individually upgrade their armor and choose a specialization for them, attack, defense, and speed. Heavy armor adds health but slows your soldiers speed.

Hello, two corrections to my review:
1. The visual options for PS4 Pro are either 'enhanced visuals' (shadows, effects) 1080p@30fps or basic visuals 4K@30fps. There is not a 60fps option.
2. Price in the UK is £30 not £40 and has a 15% launch discount, so it's currently £25!

Does the Xbox one X have a 60 fps option? I'm trying to decide which version to get.
For SuddenStrike4, I ended up getting both versions. The higher frame rates are great on the ps4pro for that game, but I was a little disappointed there was no high resolution option. I ultimately ended up getting both versions since each offered different technical experiences. I really enjoyed SS4 so I didnt mind buying the ps4pro version when it went on sale. And the higher framerates really where nice and not too jaggy at 1080p on a large4k. It upscaled nicely. But the Xbox X version at 4k resolution was also really nice, and was my first playthrough. On a large 4k, those tiny RTS graphics really did look great in 4k! But it was only 30fps:(
So basically, I'm trying to decide which version of Ancestry Legacy to start with.If both versions are identical performance wise, then I wont purchase it for each console.

Just picked this up after the PS store recommended it to me because I love Stellaris. Man, I don’t know if they’ll add more to this game, but it’s got so much potential for more varied skirmish maps. New units. More siege weapons. Maybe even another faction or two for fun. I loved the campaign maps but I wished some of the skirmish maps involved castles / populated cities. All in all I give it an 8. It’s been money well spent.

I really fancy this. I’m a PC rts player but play other things on PS4 with friends and would like to play with them. However, I’ve heard that the dedicated servers on PS4 stink and disconnect people mid match. Someone was saying a game may last 30 minutes but you’ll get kicked out at 12 minutes.
Preordered this and looking forward to giving it a go later. I was a massive fan of bfme2 on xbox360 and his will fill that void!
Hello - yes if you were a fan of bfme2 you'll love this! I'm hoping for an RTS resurgence on consoles - there were a few last gen, but apart from Tropico 5 and Halo Wars 2 there aren't many big names this gen so far and that's a shame.
This game isnt even close to BFME2. its a pretty shitty game actually it just turns into a cat and mouse game over camps AND you only get 10 groups of soldiers. Super nice graphics though. BFME2 is one of the best rts ever made, this game has no base building, super low unit cap and is NOT a classic rts likeBFME2. Not trying to shit on the game but I had to say something when compared to BFME 2. Theyre not even in the same league and dont want to see anyone waste their money.
This game is awesome i only just got it having a blast on ps4. Playstation needs more rts games reminds me of the good old days loving it so far 👍

Iv found that if your troops are wounded you can send the crew where u want to go then click the healing camp the troops that are already heald they will advance with the troop that are getting healed will follow after

can the HUDs be completely disabled (xbx1, ps4)? and zoom in/out is not restrictive? any destructible environments? what happens to the slain/killed soldiers on both sides?...the dead bodies disappear, etc.?
Any news on private servers / Multiplayer Skirmish? It would be nice to play on private lobby’s with friends and have access to all settings. So far it’s only PVE and PVP with restricted settings and difficulty, and Domination only servers.
Yes, this does seem like an oversight to be honest. No news yet, but I would hope they add a private game option....

It's really enjoyable :). This is the first console RTS where I feel it has nailed the transition to consoles. Halo Wars 1 and 2 were good, but I never liked the RTS lite feel of it. This feels spot on 😁

How much of a tactical/strategic games is this? Is the base building and micro-management somewhat complex? Same as the fighting? The reason i ask is because ive been waiting for a good RTS for console for ages. I didn't like Halo Wars series and there is really nothing else. But if im gonna buy this I want it to be something with a but more strategic thinking than C&C and Halo Wars....
It is more like Company of heroes.. Or warhammer 40000 with its capturing strategic Points

Don't brother buying it on console. The control are bad. I purchased the game on eBay for $10. But, it's unplayable. You have to command them to build traps over and over again. And recruiting. It doesn't do anything. It's all mess up.
Bfme2 was my addiction my only concern is if you can build anywhere or is it like halo wars with you only build where they tell you 2

Not really. Unlike Myth here you use squads and physics play a smaller role. I am a fan of the Myth series and had fun playing Ancestors so there is a good chance you'll enjoy it too.
It's on PS4. But, it's unplayable. The control is all mess up. Like building traps and recruiting. You command a squad build a trap. All it does. The squad stand over the spot. Don't waste your money on purchasing it on PS4 or Xbox.
Does the game need Internet to be played??I don't have. I care only for campaign and skirmish.

You can only have 10 squads? That's not alot of units if only 5 are in a squad
It might not seem like alot, but in practice its more than enough I find. The game isn't designed on the principle of just simple resource gathering and then building a huge army and winning. It's more strategic than that. It's not a limit of the console version btw, it was designed that way on PC :)
There's 10 in infantry squads, 5 seems to be cavalry and siege weapons from what I've played.
I miss the days of command and conquer where we could build over 1000 troops and send them all at once lol

At the moment you can't (you can have a offline skirmish but not a private online match). Seems an odd omission and one I hope they patch soon 👍

Not long - always seems to be a game to join, although I would expect that since the game has only just launched! Hopefully the game develops a good community in the coming weeks :)
@@AntHazuki lots of games "just launch" and have a sucessfull multiplayer base. I don't see just launch as anything but a excuse. They need to promote the game more. If its a 5-10 min wait to find a match later on that wont improve. It will always be that way. This is from many experiences on buying new games
Yes, I agree. Many games launch they are popular for a few weeks or months no new content is launched and then people get bored and move onto the next big thing. Its happened to many games I like. I hope it doesn't happen to Ancestors Legacy.

For me the best console RTS port ever was Command and Conquer Red Alert Retaliation for PS1. Kessen for PS2 was also decent. R.U.S.E and BFME2 for Xbox 360 are also old favourites of mine. I enjoyed Halo Wars but for me personally it's not the best.

Is unplayable on PS4. You try to build traps. I command a squad to do it. Push the joystick to trap and push x. It doesn't do anything. I have to do it over and over again. Same with recruiting. Game sucks on PS4.
