Chinese Girl With No Fingers Plays Piano Beautifully
A 20 years old girl from China without fingers on her right hand can play piano very well. She only started to learn piano at aged 18 years.

A young Chinese pianist with no fingers on her right hand puts on an amazing performance of Richard Clayderman's "Souvenirs d'Enfance," a piece that's hard enough to play with all ten fingers. Oh, and she hadn't even seen a piano until three years ago. Looks like I'm all out of excuses for my crappy guitar playing.

This brought back a memory from 1961 when I lived in a group foster home in Seattle. There was another girl there who was about 13, and one of the "thalidomide babies" with the same condition and rejected by her parents. She was on her way to becoming as good as this girl. The human spirit is amazing!

When the judge said could you tell us briefly about your unfortunate experience about your hands, the girl smiled and said "I don't think I'm unfortunated. I think I'm blessed to have such a wonderful pair of hands."

beautifully played! I introduced this video to my piano students to inspire them...and help them realize there are no good excuses...if you really have the desire to learn!
However you look at it. She is talented, she has a positive attitude and she is an inspiration. I tear up every time I watch this video, and I make no apologies for it. Wish you all the best in life . Once again, you're a great inspiration !

commentguy304 Uhhh as a deformed pianist my self. I always count my hands as a blessing and I believe God intended me to be the way I was made to overcome obstacles and prove that there is a God in heaven.
@@jamesloggins8397 Yeah well my brother was born with quadriplegia, plus blind and deaf and God doesn't have any plans for him apart from lifelong nightmare; what obstacles can he overcome? Religious people should learn keep their fairy story to themselves; especially when many are living in torture.

@kgopu24 The 1st judge asked her to talk about her unfortunate story. Her reply was straightforward: "I do not feel unfortunate at all. Instead, I think I am blessed that I have a pair of hands able to play piano. In fact, I was moved by the sound of piano in the beginning. Then I found I can play piano." The 3rd judge said: "I heard great pianists said that in the end, it is with the heart that one plays piano, not hands. I think you understand this better than many else."

WOW I saw this a few years ago when she was performing somewhere else, and every time I go back and look at it, im astonished by how positive this girl acts and how she wasn't going to give up just because she has a disability. well I guess its not a disability to her.

My hands are normal and I still struggle on playing the piano. I feel so un-talented and un-special and it's a motivation to give up xD but naaaaah I will keep on trying

I had a piano student in Shanghai who played this piece for his me (he was like...5, so I don't know what they expected me to teach him), what is the name? Sadly the sheet music did not come back with me, and I can't remember the title for the life of me!!! I remember it was French...!

pretty easy (not if you only have a total of 5 fingers of course and learning for only two years, kudos to this lady)
I could guess all the notes by ear
