Welcome to state #36 on our journey to all 50 states in a year (2021)... Minnesota! For our time in The North Star State we decided to spend 24 hours at the largest mall in the US, the Mall of America! With an impressive 5.6 million square feet housing more than 500 stores, 50 restaurants, the country’s largest indoor theme park, an aquarium, a movie theater, a wedding chapel and lots more, we had no problem finding ways to fill our time during our visit! From riding roller coasters to eating a giant cotton candy duck to Natalie getting her ears pierced, we truly enjoyed our time at the Mall of America!

I've lived in the twin cities my entire life, and I still have to remind myself that the Mall of America isn't something normal people can experience on a whim. It's easy to forget that people fly in from all over the world just to visit it when meanwhile it's just 20 minutes away from where I live and it's just a casual trip to the mall for me.

yup every state in the country for the most part has its own special gem of an attraction that is unique and one of a kind for tourism and tourist to visit and enjoy pretty cool that minnesotas gem is the mall of america i was lucky enough to visit and see a fraction of what the mall had to offer when i was just 18 while working for a hotshot company that sent 2 eighteen year old guys fresh outta high school from texas to minnesota to drop off steel and the walmart we went to drop off at happened to be like 5 minutes from the mall of america and we had to stop! i bought a twins city throw back minnesota hat and some sunglasses lol definitely on the bucket list of places to go back to

I used to live 10 min from the MOA so it was fun to see how much the mall has changed since then! My daughter got her ears pierced at Piercing Pagoda when she was 7! She’s 15 now ☺️

Ah, the Mall of America! I lived just a couple of blocks down from there when it was first built back in the 90's. It has changed a lot since then, but I will never forget the amazing nights spent on the 4th floor where all of the nightclubs were. So many memories!
You guys need to visit the rest of MN! So much more to see as far as natural beauty, all our lakes, and historic town cultures, much like you found in Fargo, ND. Drive the scenic north shore, visit duluth, itasca (start of the Mississippi River), and even international falls and the lake of the woods! Just a suggestion compared to hanging out in a shopping mall all day.

I been there, 4 floors, and a basement, i used to rollerblade around the lakes 30 plus miles, and then head to the mall and walk it, because my job sent me to 3rd ave i near Roseville, stayed in. Dump too, they did not charge for parking in the 9’s lol. Thanks for sharing

I grew up visiting MOA a couple times a year so it's kind of funny seeing folks treating it like an amazing adventure when to us, it was just "the mall" 😂 it's nice to be able to see it through someone else's eyes and recognize how special it is! I will die on the Camp Snoopy Supremacy hill, though.

I stopped by for a bit there when I dropped my sister off at Carleton University. It was indeed very very big! Definitely need to stop by again and check it out. I lived by the mall as a child. There was a huge dealership in front of the mall. There was no fancy hotel back then. I am amazed how much it has changed.

I haven't been to this mall since 1993 and I have wanted to go back so many times but it's 10hrs away ugh... Now I'm older with 2 kids and this place looks like a definite stop in the near future. I love your channel and I have literally went on several of the exact trips that you have done on here. Love the content and you both seem so real and relatable.
I was at the last game played at Metro stadium back in the day, and I've been to the MOA so many times and I Never knew that home plate was there. That's awesome, thank you for all the memories you brought back.

When I was there the 4th floor was all bars and a bowling alley . It was so much fun but too big I had to sit and break for a bit. But the rides are fun!

I just watched your North Dakota vlog like yesterday, which is where I live! I live near Grand Forks which is about an hour and a half from Fargo. We love to travel to Minneapolis, which is 5 hours away. Btw, my favorite ride in Mall of America is the Avatar Airbender! It's so much fun, and my second favorite ride is the Fairly Odd Coaster!

Minnesota is great in the summer but I recommend heading back south before October.
Minnesotan here-next time you visit, do yourself a favor and visit Duluth. Beautiful town on Lake Superior. Great choice eating at Fire Lake! Hands down the best restaurant at MOA!

i always thought it was a bigger place that would take the whole weekend to traverse, how long did it take to circle the building
Thanks so much for watching!! It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. If you want to really experience all of the activities (miniature golf, Aquarium, amusement park, etc) you would need more than a day, but I’d say a half day to circle the building. A full day was a good amount for us.

Minnesota has a a lot of indoor and outdoor malls. But MOA is still considered the largest mal in the US
You need to visit MoA during the Holiday season. They decorate the entire Mall around Thanksgiving and it’s gorgeous!

Too funny getting your ears pierced. "Do I look different" 😂
I pierced my second hole myself, with a needle and ice, in my preteen years. My mom came home from work, I wanted to see if she'd notice what I did, and I literally said the same thing to her, Do I look different... She couldn't figure it out. Guess we still look the same 😊 The cartilage piercing was the worst to maintain. My hair would always get stuck on the earring, & going on coasters with over head restraints were the worst banging on the piercing.
I can't believe he said age 8 was the youngest you get your ears pierced. I wonder when that changed? I got mine done there at 5, and my daughters as a baby.

Not only do they have the home plate for the old baseball stadium, they also used to have one of the seats on the wall. I dont know if they still do as i try not to go to the mall since i live here. But i did used to work in the "park of america" before it turned to nickelodeon universe and i remember seeing one of the stadium seats on the wall and was always confused by it until i asked people i worked with why it was there.
I've been tempted to visit this mall. How was the occupancy? Were most of the spaces leased or was there a lot unleased? It looked like a lot of the spaces were bigger than typical.Nat, your dinner looked fantastic, cheese curds, steak and the polenta. I'm not a fan of blue cheese either( it's very strong) but I do enjoy gorgonzola. Always fun to see your adventures!
Hey Deb! It really was a lot of fun & WAY bigger than we expected! There is literally something for everyone! lol You know, we were surprised how many were leased out! I know malls are having a hard time but maybe since this one is it's own attraction maybe why there wasn't more open spaces. 🤷🏼♀️🤣 Dinner was great!! Suggestions for must visits in MN. Downtown Stillwater on the St. Croix River. Lake Minnetonka/downtown Excelsior. Rent bicycles and travel the many nature trials and go through downtown Hastings.
