I like putting the very small round ones in my casseroles! We CUT potatoes for most dishes, the small ones, in my opinion, don't need to be cut. I like them in my 'Beef Stew' and in any Casseroles or dishes that I usually use potatoes in because I don't have to 'half them' if I don't want to. Good harvest!

Hello Danny and Wanda :-) :-) we are from Kenner Louisiana. My wife and I have been following you for the last 2 years. My weight was 480 lb and from growing my own vegetables I have lost well over a hundred pounds. I can't thank you and Wanda enough for all of the instructional videos that we have watched. Because of the pandemic my mother could not see my garden this year so I was sitting in the backyard feeling down and I grab my cell phone and started recording. My little CZcams video is called Ruiz garden tour. Please watch it and give me your opinions on my gardening. Thanks again and God bless. y'all are awesome and with a few other people have helped change my life. If you're ever in the New Orleans area please stop in and say hello. We also plan on attending your next Gathering. Thanks again and God bless you

I would say those fingerling potatoes are picture perfect. On the whites you have to remember you are picking them young because of the insects...they would be larger if they could stay in the ground a few more weeks. You could use a lot more organic material to the soil and maybe fertilize a bit more as the tops seem a bit spindly, but the taters do look tasty. Have you tried kennebec? I grow a lot of potatoes and the reds never seem to do quite as well as well as the others. I've tried red pontiac and red norland.

It’s a ton of work but my spine would make sure I know it’s not happy if I had to dig potatoes … I got 100 5gallon buckets and they will all be grown in buckets … helps keep rodents away as well and easier to harvest !!!
I bought a pack of every organic potatoes the store had and will be trying them … lest year I tried potatoes for the 1st time … couldn’t get the planted until late so they weren’t ready come fall but the fingerlings had like 20-30+ baby potatoes growing off the roots but too small to use … but I don’t use fertilizers or anything and they were amazing ! If they had the right grow time the harvest would be amazing !!!

That's awesome, I would replant all the ones that want to grow and double you crop, eat some , can some at your discretion. I am planting a bunch of different potatoes but my area is cooler then yours. Also fingerlings I believe have more protein then regular potatoes, some fingerlings have almost as much protein as meat.. I grew a couple of them years ago … I only can remember the purple fingerlings and they made a great mashed potato that the kids loved.

Politics going on in the bought News channels in my suggestions, popped it on for a second (that curiosity of mine 🤦🏻‍♀️). Then I saw your video on potatoes right below, I said to myself “let me go watch something useful, with a message that won’t do a 180 degree turn during a commercial break.” Potato lessons for the win. My compost in zone 10 is sprouting the plants off my organic potato toss outs from the grocery store. I already pulled three out and planted them just to see what is going to happen. Beautiful crop of fingerlings there. Is it because they don't have enough nutrients is why they created runners? Or is it because they were creating more potatoes? I feel that your hills weren't high enough to bury them well enough so they sent out runners to avoid the sunlight. But Idk for certain myself. Good thing you took them out before the bugs got to them. I would love to try growing some myself. Great share!

Man I'm so jealous of the cool weather yall are having, down to the 40s in May, wow! Last May we hit 100 and it ruined a lot of spring crops. This year has been unexpectedly cool, with nights in the 60s and days in the low 80s so far. Just started harvesting spring potatoes last week, any tips for how I can save some potatoes I'm harvesting now to plant come late August/ early September, I'm hoping fall potatoes will do better than spring for me. I planted red norlands, yukon golds, and some blue potatoes all from Lowe's. Ordering from Hoss next year. My red norlands and yukons have produced pretty poorly this year, but surprisingly the blue potatoes are yielding quite well. I'm hoping to get a few potato plants to actually flower so I can save fruits and actual seeds to germinate to hopefully develop a variety adapted to the deep south. Happy gardening, cheers

I want to try them in containers like a big plastic 50gal. barrel, or whatever. I’m in town and can’t spread out much. Got plenty of dogs so keeping the two separated on a small plot would be challenging to say the least.

Hank hit the woods one day and didn't come back. I looked on roads around for a while, but didn't see him again.
