i teach the violin. when i have to teach emotions i play this song and ask them to tell me how they feel. but not by speaking, but by playing through them and expressing them. this piece makes my heart feel many emotions lol

Painfully beautiful. Excellent interpretation. I've found that some interpretations added too much vibrato, which doesn't fit this piece. This performance is done very tastefully.
I know it's "lento" but I don't think this piece works played this slowly. It does sound very "american", probably due largely to the minimalist vibrato.
what do you mean? Dvorak was Czech ... he spent time in the US ... this quartet is influenced by American (especially Black) music ... it is American and European

Such a beautiful movement to a lovely quartet. The 1st Violin and the cello really get into it. I can hear strains of early American "Indian" music.

Just a tad slow for me at the beginning, but beautiful playing. I liked the ebb and flow of the tempo.
