    I had the same model for 5 years as leisure mountain campers. Fun interesting it is so useful at my job on construction site. (😂sometimes cut wire and barrier and fence to gain safety access ) I always keep it in my office deck or bag 💼 instead.😮😊

    I'm back. I really like the spring loaded pliers. Non replaceable cutters like my Leatherman Rebar, but economical price point. Scissors are nice to have, someone always asking me for Scissors. Serrated blade i cherish for cutting cordage. Lol "saw for cutting a tree layen across the road". No threading eye in reamer/awl tool, wish it had an eye. There is a clip&carry kydex sheath for it. So if you keep the Suspension oiled, cleaned, sharpened & adjust the pivots a lil, it's a great tool. The military Gerber MP600 & the Suspension NXT are good tools as well.

    I lent mine to a friend in the national guard who carried it when stationed in new mexico. he beat the crap out of this thing and i still use it as my primary multitool. theyre great for the money.

    I picked up a few of the cheap gerbers this year just for extra bags for the wife, kid, buddy set up. Decent better than nothing.

    I was fortunate enough to find one in the street. One side with the serrated blade is hard to get out cuz someone prolly used the butt end as a hammer, lol! Put a paracord diamond knot lanyard with a Spartan bead on it, attached with a mini Niteize S beaner, so I can remove it quick if I have to. Rocking it in a camo magazine pouch with molle attachment. Loadout for my work EDC.

    Love this tool, but I'm rocking the newer one the Suspension NXT, rock solid multi tool, best cheaper alternative to Leatherman with just the same quality. Gerber is Gerber no matter what, materials are from USA but only assembled in China.

    • @TerriblyTactical
      @TerriblyTactical  Před 2 lety

      Typically it's the other way around from my understanding and I'm going to have to say that Leatherman for the most part makes better tools but yeah the Gerber stuff is solid!

    • @jamesleary1405
      @jamesleary1405 Před rokem +1

      I agree this tool is great and has held up perfectly for me for over 12yrs. I have no Hate towards Leatherman and own some Leatherman stuff, but there are many tool's that easily out perform them. Leatherman has a cult following and those diehards will always hold them at the top of a list no matter what. I've had to return a Leatherman multitool I have for repair a couple time's but never had to do that with my other brands I own.

  • @mattvanderwalt6220
    @mattvanderwalt6220 Před rokem +2

    I've had one of these since 2009. They do seem to get ragged on way more than I think is fair. It was a cheap replacement for my Leatherman Wave - is it a Wave replacement - well no. But is it very capable for its price - yup. I've used mine extensively for years - and did everything that was ever required of it. Even had an issue with it and was replaced by Gerber no issues (so customer service is good). My only gripes... Heavy for its size (its quite a dense tool) / blades are on the small side and grinds are quite shallow - saw is short but does work quite well - would really like to have seen a file instead of the serrated blade - and honestly an adaptor for a bit driver using the the large flat or phillips would make this extremely capable.

    Oh man, I remember when I could get a Suspension from Wally World for $25 and the Leatherman Wingman was $30 at Wally World. Probably close to 8 years ago now. How times have changed.
    Bought 2 of each over a couple weeks time to put into kits and vehicles at that time. Still have them around but not sure I'd ever hard use them. They function as emergency use only, but we've got them if we need them.
    Can't believe this video shows in my suggestions 3 years after you posting. 😂

    all the tools lock in place, not just the blades/saws. I found the unlocking mechanism a bit difficult to use, and you'd need to press down both sides of the handle, not just one side. the tools are solid tho for the cost of the tool. but you also could find something slightly better to use.

    i own(ed) better tools like Swisstool and Surge, but yesterday i needed to cut a special wire and the best result was obtained with Suspension. i think its better for softer materials. for its price its good.

  • @jamesleary1405
    @jamesleary1405 Před rokem +2

    Leatherman isn't what it's all made up too be, yes they do produce some nice stuff. But there are dozens of video's that show many other brands including what I'm against knock offs aka clones that have out down Leatherman and some ways. I've had this tool since it came out and it's been heavily used over the year's and everything still works and performs perfectly. My point is that not everything produced in China is garbage. My sheath was better then what you're multitool came with, mine has a solid button snap for ease of attaching it to belt or wherever you want it. I do agree that ballistic tag on a nylon sheath is kinda silly. But all in all I own many brands including Leatherman and they all have their place. But it's definitely far from cheap cause I've used and abused this tool for a good 12 plus year's easily.
