Munduk, Bali - Buggy adventure in the wild highlands and a traditional coffee plantation

- Today we go up to Munduk in the wild mountains of Bali. An adventurous buggy tour on dusty slopes and a visit to a coffee plantation await us there.
Munduk itself is a small, unspectacular village, but it is surrounded by a stunning landscape and is not yet as overcrowded with tourists as the coastal towns. The place is surrounded by lush jungle, rice terraces and coffee and clove plantations. The region is very fertile and is therefore also used for growing vegetables. In contrast to the coast, it is cooler here in the highlands, which should be taken into account when choosing clothing. In general, you shouldn't wear your best clothes for the buggy tour because it will be dusty!
Our adventure starts at Munduk Wilderness Basecamp. We strengthen ourselves with a coffee at a nearby hotel and admire the great view of the impressive mountains. Then our buggy is ready, which at first glance reminds us of a riding lawnmower. The two-seater off-road buggy of the “FIN Komodo” type is an Indonesian development. Our guide instructs us, provides us with dust masks, and the exciting journey begins. First on small roads to get used to the vehicle, we drive through the tropical landscape and through small farming villages. There are always beautiful views of the mountain landscape. Then we reach a coffee plantation where we learn a lot of interesting things about coffee cultivation. In Bali, the Robusta variety is mainly grown, which tolerates hot temperatures better. But especially here in the cooler mountains there are also plantations with Arabica, which is considered the better type of coffee. The ripe coffee cherries are red and inside you can find the still whitish coffee beans. In addition to the coffee bushes, we also see avocado trees and cloves laid out to dry. In the main house of the plantation we witness how the coffee is traditionally roasted over an open fire and then pounded into powder in a mortar.
Afterwards we continue with our buggy on slopes that are now much more demanding. There is a lot of dust and we are happy about our dust masks! We can test our driving skills on an off-road circuit. The man becomes young again, while the woman hopes that it will soon be over. 😁😁

Man sollte es aber nicht überbewerten. Das ist selten persönlich gemeint, auch wenn das gerade europäische Männer manchmal denken, wenn sie von jungen hübschen Frauen angelächelt werden. 😁😁
Hallo, das war bestimmt eine interessante Reise. Sehr schön gezeigt und dann auch in der 4K Qualität, mit 60 FPS, super. Die Straßen sind ja nicht gerade Breit, aber mit den Buggys geht das ja. Leider hatte der Veranstalter weder einen passenden Helm noch eine passende Staubmaske für unser Schweinchen! 🤣🤣Es musste deshalb auf unsere Rucksäcke aufpassen, die wir auch nicht mit in den Buggy nehmen konnten. Die Kaffeeplantage hat es daher leider versäumt, wobei es an Kaffee auch nicht so interessiert ist! 😁Vielen Dank fürs Anschauen und den lieben Kommentar! 😊😊🐷
