This was my first jet. It seemed mediocre at first but I came to appreciate it over time. It has its weaknesses. In a dogfight, you get one good turn, and you lose all your speed. You have to gain altitude and swoop down on people. You can also beat them in a scissor, or bait a more maneuverable plane into a head-on, but altitude is your friend. It can definitely turn. It just loses speed like the whole plane is an airbrake. My actual gameplay usually goes like this: I take full bombs and AIM 9G. I drop my bombs on the base. Then, I climb and try to fire missiles at people from above. Then I either rearm, or go for some wrecklessly desperate cannon kills. OR...I run out of fuel and die. That happens.
I use a full fuel load, that way I can constantly afterburn if I want to, even better is that the added weight gives more vertical maneuverability and while they take a very long time, it allows you to win dogfights against tigers without issue, also use gun pods and the aim9gs, no bombs, they kill the point of the aircraft if you have them.
This plane is actually worth 70 buck -great matchmaker -good performance -good missiles -easy bombing run -great for sim battles -set of countermeasures you dont need much more than that

This plane's thrust-to-weight is insane, meaning it accelerates like a rocket and zips about at mach 1.15. Sure, AIM-9Gs are limited in their capabilities, but when encountered with F-5Cs, all you have to do is...fly away. They can't keep up with your acceleration and speed. Your best bet is to swing wide and jumpscare unsuspecting players from behind in the early game and use your speed to run out people's patience in the tailchase and take out slow players. It's a delta, you'll hemmorrhage speed in a dogfight, so if you dont reverse in the first few turns just dive away and disappear. You're a Mirage III with an upgraded engine. You're faster than a Phantom, Draken, and even a Fishbed.

Im getting sick and tired of undertiered premiums as of late, the blatant bait to get people to buy premiums or suffer is downright disgusting. (Not to mention the hamster quality servers and countless bugs that even prem players are raging)
Same weapons as 9.7 harrier, with far fewer countermeasures, a full 1.0 higher on account of flight performance. I don't see this as undertiered, just niche. In that dogfight niche, its obscene. Against the radar missile barrage other planes at its br and above can unleash...
