    Recorded sometime in 1963 (late Spring/Early Summer perhaps) after the voice work on the movie had been completed, but while the film itself was stiil in production. This way, the album could be released in time for the Christmas shopping season.
    Album Voice Cast:
    Karl Swenson: Merlin/Sir Kay
    Rickie Sorenson: Arthur
    Junius Matthews: Archimedies
    Martha Wentworth: Mad Madame Mim

    I like how, in this adaptation, Merlin is the one who flies with Wart when they turn into birds when in the film itself Archimedes took over the lesson from Merlin.

    I'm surprised this movie didn't have a read-along book-and-audio adaptation produced; not a Storyteller album like this, but one of those "SEE the pictures, HEAR the story, READ the book" ones. Probably the only canon (single-story) Disney animated feature to not be adapted into such a read-along story.

    What is the album voice of Sir Ector? In the movie he was voiced by Sebastian Cabot, who also narrated from beginning to end.

      Possibly Dal Mc Kennon, who narrated “The Jungle Book”record besides doing other records (e.g. “Uncle Remus”) plus voice work for Disney and other animation studios.

    I love the songs as recorded for this LP. Any other time, I almost always prefer the soundtrack version, meaning the song as it appears in the film, but in this case I really do prefer these arrangements. In particular, "That's What Makes the World Go 'Round" is especially effective. I had the OST album in the 1970's, & it had the same arrangements, actually, but now all I can find online is the scene as extracted right from the movie. I never had this longer storybook album, so thanks for sharing!

    • @anthonysimpsonanygoround8749

      Dallas Mc Kennon

    • @anthonysimpsonanygoround8749
      @anthonysimpsonanygoround8749 Před rokem +1

      Dallas Mc Kennon appeared on camera in some Disney live action tv shows and films, and in addition his voice could be heard in animated films such as “Lady and the Tramp” in which he did the man confronted by the policeman outside the zoo, and in the later dog pound scene he was the character of “Toughy”. He also did various voices in “One Hundred and One Dalmatians”. He narrated the storyteller record album based on “Song of the South” as Uncle Remus (instead of James Baskett) as well as voicing the other characters, and narrated “The Jungle Book” as Bagheera (instead of Sebastian Cabot). His voice could also be heard in films animated by other studios, as he was one of the people supplying the voice of Gumby for Art Clokey at one point (Norma Mac Millan and others also did it) and later also the voice of Archie Andrews and other characters in the tv series by Filmation.
