Oh man! This is so awesome! As a beginner, my instinct is always to try harder when I'm not able to get a good sound, when I really need to be more relaxed. I've been struggling with low notes jumping octaves and following your advice about dropping the chin has made all the difference. Thank you so much Martino! I would not be having so much fun learning a new instrument without your help.

The chin thing is an important part as that can affect the sound and reed vibration big time.
All we're trying to do is let the reed to vibrate freely.
      Happy to help my friend!

I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've studied a variety of You Tube videos, but when I try to play, all I get is squeals and honks and terrible-sounding hollow raspy noises that are the barest approximations of musical notes and sound nothing the way a sax is supposed to sound at all. I've experimented with literally everything I can think of to try. Maybe I have a mouthpiece with a manufacturing defect or there's something wrong with my sax, a key stuck open, or something like that. I wish I could get some help but I've found personal help impossible to find and the only people there are, are online, and except for email, I have zero working knowledge of computers. No one will help me with a computer. I can't even pay people to help me.
