I have a feeling they really fell for her lies, and they were absolutely blindsided when they were faced with the testimonies of all those people. When the trial began, Bredehoft said something along the lines of “You will see police reports, and testimony of LAPD officers, you will see medical documentation of physical and emotional abuse, you will see that Amber feared for her life when she was around Johnny.”
Seems she hadn’t done her homework prior to the trial, and those statements make her look ridiculous now. On top of complete lack of concrete evidence, Amber’s team couldn’t find a competent expert to testify for Amber if their lives depended on it. I really think Bredehoft and Rottenbird live in caves, because they seem somehow to have missed the extensive coverage from all media on this case! All this stuff was reported before!

She probably thought that was the safety net against ever having to corroborate her claims, Johnny being too shamed and scared that the world will see his flaws. ... the note taking was a psychological abuse tactic, she's blatantly trying to Brow beat Johnny with veiled threats, watch her face when she looks up from writing a fake note, she looks directly across at Johnny or his lawyers with smugness even though she wrote nothing - she's trying to cause Johnny a sense of fear, trying to make him worry that she's written something damaging. It's a manipulative abuse tactic that's been used on me before, usually when someone else is in the room the abusers don't want to realise the reality of their behaviour.
