My Brompton is the first bike I have had in 40 years. And with it costing so much it was a foregone conclusion to have it insured along with myself for personal injury. I believe that having that piece of mind helps me enjoy using it. Even if the bike is a rusty pile, you're not!

Hi Chris, my wife had a bike accident while we were touring wine caves in the Loire valley in France last fall. She recovered 95% but the collar bone fracture was “non-union”. Two days ago she had surgery and now she has a similar plate and screws. Thanks for sharing.

I'm sad to hear about the accident, it's good that she's already recovered 95% and now after the plaque it's going to be quick.
At the time, the collar bone was the only place it did not hurts because was fix with the plate.
Hope for her to be better soon.

It hurt a lot when I put alcohol on the cut. But I found that alcohol makes cuts heal faster and kills all the bacteria.
Now is almost like new.

As a Danish owner of rather many, mostly in a row, extremely expensive racing bikes and superlight MTBs, I of course also have an Insurance covering my bikes, from our Housing- and Travel-insurances! But it is a somewhat dubious privilege, as the paid-for value of the bike, in case of theft or an accident, falls like a stone thrown out from a high building! As a now 75 years old man, I have lately sold my two top-racing bikes to my former, and younger/lighter neighbor. One, the latest, a fully Dura-Ace equipped, Top LOOK carbon frame, 6,8 kilo!! But still elderly, though perfect looking, and well cared for, 2 times 9 gear versions, which are somewhat outdated today, though functioning perfectly!

I loved hearing you speak your native tongue. I learned quite a bit of Spanish in high school and I could pick up on some words that were different but similar like Mercado and bicicleta but as a whole, your language is so unique it just sounded beautiful but I had no idea what you were saying LOL

I currently have Markel insurance on my Brompton which as far as I know is the main bike insurance in the US. Plenty of conditions and caveats and kind of expensive.
