    I prefer the Lexus NX interior, it just screams luxury more than the Q5, not to mention the reliability and longevity of the Lexus.

    As a previous Audi owner, my advice would be either lease it or sell before the warranty runs out. And, you will get to know your service advisor a little more than you would like. And, bring some extra cash.

    Excellent review as always Tyler. Ive owned several Audis over the years both in and out of warranty. I am now a Lexus owner and its fair to say I don't think I will be coming back. But It's not simply because Audis generally have horrendous reliability as they age. This is not uncommon with any german luxury brand. I think its more about what you prioritize. As I've gotten older, that has changed for me. I believe Audis are great for people who are into short term ownership, view luxury as the newest looking and/or most aesthetically pleasing features inside and out, and enjoy brand prestige with evolutionary rather than revolutionary styling. Whereas Lexus is more for people who view luxury as having solid features in a car that they will enjoy for many years to come, styling that makes you appreciate emphasis of form over function, and depending on the trim, driving enjoyment. Either way both groups of people win IMO.

    I’m very frugal so I personally would go with the vehicle that has better reliability and resale values, though I have a tendency to drive my vehicles until they are in need of a major repair and then it’s time to sell them.

    NX for me, I’m not really sure I care for how my luxury crossover to be “sporty” plus I guess the F-sport exists, but I’m a sucker for good tech mixed in with a nice interior, and I feel the NX checks that box better than the Audi, the Audi just kinda looks outdated to me. Plus any qualms I have with the engine noise of the hybrid system dies when you’re getting 40mpg, some owners have even seen 45-48mpg on very careful loops

      That portion is at the end. When I say “build quality” I am referring to how well it is built from a tangible sense (doors, controls, panel fitment, construction, etc.). The 1st gen NX used the 8AR-FTS, which is the 2.0L turbo engine that was also used in the IS. I still think that the T24A-FTS (2.4L turbo) will be reliable since this isn't their first turbocharged engine, but it's still a brand new engine so it's hard to judge reliability.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  Před měsícem +1

      Because ✨it is not a dressed up Tiguan✨ (like not at all) Do some research on the MLB platform, the only common component between the tiguan and Q5 is technically the engine but even that is vastly different. Meanwhile the RAV4 and NX are so similar they share crash tests😂

    • @konkurentLC
      @konkurentLC Před měsícem

      @@Realistick yes, it's different platform, I know about MLB, I have it myself in a6 (not MLB Evo), but if you are not going to V6 in Q5 you have basicly same engines, same transmission (yes vw calls it differently), not sure about quattro ultra (in a6 is "ultra" not full real quattro) of course is more luxurious, better to drive but there are similarities, on the other hand for example Camry vs ES, same platform and also differen to drive...
      and just to clarify, I didn't mean it in a bad way, it's just that, especially here in Europe, there is a frequent narrative that Lexus is just an overpriced Toyota and Audi is a real premium car, as if the whole concern has been forgotten

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  Před měsícem

      @@konkurentLC It’s not the same transmission either though and here in the US, it makes 40 percent more power so it’s a stretch to say it has the same engine even if they are EA888.
