I'm gone for one episode and you guys are wearing shirts from NASA???? C'mon Guys!
They’re having a good time 👋🏿
The podcast falls apart without you!!!!
😆
It feels wrong considering how much you bring to this show, but this was a great episode
I would have a hard time wearing a shirt that depicts the serpent tongue.
I scored two touchdowns on that field in 1987. You guys being there for the eclipse is the second greatest thing that’s ever happened there.
🤣love this!!!!
That field did not exist in 1987
@@Munkey990 it did in my imagination.
Murph ?
If the coach had put me in the fourth quarter, we would've won state.
Sadly, my son passed away in January, he was only 24. I have an hour commute to work every day and I don't think I could have done it these last few months without this podcast❤❤ My son and I had the pleasure of seeing the BAND at Bridgestone last year and I am so grateful for that memory with him and for all of you. Your sincere love of stand-up, your fans, each other, and life in general has made the unendurable bearable and you are truly the highlight of my week! PS - This episode was an instant classic!
So sorry about your son. Blessings to you. Laughter is definitely a healing emotion.
🌸
Dusty not invited to another event with John Crist...I feel bad for him
A solar eclipse would probably throw a wrench in Dusty's logic
@@Jon-fx5vwNah
@@Jon-fx5vw like what?
😂😂😂😂
Once again dusty is left out 😂
16:53 - Nate: "...if this is the rapture, are yall 2 fine with finishing this podcast out?" (points at John and Greg), HAHA!
I may be wrong but I think the joke was to imply that those two are the "sinners" of the group and would be left behind. Good lowkey joke but will be lost on a lot of people.
@@ModeratelyAmusedomg… ur completely right! And I totally missed it
😂😂😂😂
@@ModeratelyAmused Yep! That's why it's hilarious, lol
Welcome to Gregland 🎉😂
"There's gonna be some changes" lol
Beak: “There’s been 224 eclipses this century.”
John: “On Earth?”
Nate: “Alright, do Venus now.”
Is my favorite moment of the episode🤣
My wife is 39 weeks pregnant and we to Nate’s special in Phoenix Sunday night. Cut to three hours after the show and we’re at the hospital getting ready for our baby girl to come. If that ain’t the most folks thing, I don’t know what is. Amazing special Nate, so proud for you!
🙌🏿✝️🧎🏽
Congrats Aaron!! Can’t believe you announced it during an ad read 😂
I skip the ad reads… is he pregnant??
Aaron casually throwing out he’s having a kid while two episodes we watched he and Dusty laugh for 7 minutes is exactly why I love this podcast. Keep up the good work fellas and congrats, Aaron, on the baby!
My son is a freshman at Murray Sate down in Western Kentucky. On eclipse day, I texted him a reminder not to look at the sun and asked him to let me know where he landed for the event. A little later, I get a photo of his leg and a few friends on a football field.
He texts: in Paducah at friend's high school. Next text reads: I just met Nate's dad. Next text: a photo of him and his friends with Nate and John Crist. What are the chances?! Unbelievable!
P.S. When we finally got the chance to talk, my son said that Nate's dad did a trick for them. "Mom, the eclipse was pretty awesome. But the trick was even better."
😮🤩🥳
In the car, my 18 and 16 year old kids are sometimes listening along with me. They know how big of a fan I am of the show and all of you. They FREAKED OUT when they heard my name and question! They seriously thought I was cool for a few minutes! Thanks for that folks. I’m so glad Nate could pronounce my name. lol.
That's fun
I love how Crist and Warren is representing the dulaity of Dusty. Crist, questioning if the eclipse is real. Warren, saying that animals can feel the change and freak out. In almost 100 episodes I'm Dusty is an essential part of the band. Love this sode!
Bobby brown-make Nate read this comment! He'll say "dutality" and it'll be hilarious!
Ehh
Duality*
If the word is intentionally spelled wrong, that's not very cool. "Hahaha Nate messed up the word that I didn't even spell correctly hahaha"
I saw a cardiologist the day of the eclipse and he was running late from an emergency. He walked in and said "someone had a heart attack, so I guess you can say it was a total eclipse of the heart" followed by I don't joke about heart attacks but I had to today.
Congratulations Aaron and Lucy!!
"Which one do you use more often?" - Aaron
"The Sun" - Brian Brembo Brakes Bates
Great stuff Brian
"Actually".... with most of you comedians working indoors I'd say they use the phone more. The sun is more superfluous in their case.
Great episode. Warren and Crist are definitely top 4. What I appreciated most was the amount of awe and wonder directed at John’s thumbs compared to the eclipse. Love that you guys are keeping it real.
54:09 Once again, Brian has the best joke of the podcast and nobody heard it...He still had some leftover punches after the roast of John Crist.
Thanks for letting us experience the eclipse through this outdoor episode.
My friend told me she was going to buy hundreds of blowup dolls and fill them with helium and let them go during the eclipse so people would think it’s the rapture.
😎 Dusty you were missed !
That would have been amazing!!
I am not even 30 seconds in and I just want to say thank you for the best Nateland ever. This is a heavy hitter episode!
Literally the first second, the ad read with Nate peering under his Daft Punk glasses and reading with such a weird cadence, and I'm already rolling
Shout out to the video team...great looking episode!
I am one of those that cried during the eclipse this year. I was in the path of totality in 2017 and was able to experience it with my large extended family. I lost 3 members of my family since then. This eclipse made me realize how grateful I was to share a rather rare occurrence with those I love. I will always remember it.
🥴 Had I not been with fellow office workers (my family passed on in 2022), I also would have flat-out cried. Instead, I merely choked up with brimming eyes. My Daddy and eldest big brother were big eclipse nerds back in 2017 and we could barely even see it from mid-Michigan... I looked back on the photos we took together and shared one via text with my precious SIL. The 2024 eclipse 'emotions' were completely unexpected and as I thought of the podcast where they were funning on the fact that some folks cry, I realized my snarky perspective had suddenly changed... 👍😢👍

The Great American Eclipse, or "The Day The Sun Got Mooned," as my son calls it, was 80% at my house. We wore the goofy glasses over top of our regular glasses, stood in the yard, and stared at the sun for way longer than recommended. At 80%, it just got about as dark as it does when a bad storm pops up after a whole day of clear skies. Thanks for taking the time to travel to Paducah for the podcast. I'm a fan from episode one, and Wednesday is my favorite day of the week because of y'all!
This was so awesome guys. What an incredible idea to think to do the podcast during the event. Thank you for bringing it every week.
Congratulations to Aaron and Lucy becoming expectant parents!!!! It's a life changing experience and I'm sure you will be a wonderful father!👨👩👦
Brick-a-brack was on POINT this episode! His seamless “this podcast comes out in two days” after Nate said everyone will be over the eclipse the day after…PERFECT🙌🏻😂
"which one do you use more often?" "The sun"
I will often tell my wife things I learn from the podcast. We live near Indianapolis which was one of the best cities to view the eclipse because it was in the path of 100% totality. After watching the podcast, I told her that I think the star we saw in the sky was actually Venus. She questioned this information and asked me for my sources, so I told her the Nateland Podcast and said I heard it from Nate, Aaron and Basement and I had to tell her that Basement meant Brian Bates. She immediately responded with "I've never heard of Brian Bates" but of course I had his back and shot back with "well he's never heard of you either."
I got center stage seats for Greg in Columbia MO on April 19th. I hate that he will not be able to see me.
I appreciate the effort you did for this week's episode. The logistics of moving all the gear and crew, not to mention recording a day later, ain't lost on me! Hay bare!
Thanks Scott but we recorded on our normal day.
So excited Nate wore his shirt and that the glasses came in handy!
Also the production is amazing! Love the look of the pod.
The effort and travel isn't wasted on me. Watching it gradually go dark was so neat!
The red looks like a serpent's tongue
I have genuine love for this podcast ❤✌🏾
My mom, who hasn't watched the show, walked by and said, " it's cool that they even have a baseball player on their show," lol it was right after that discussion... I guess you can't wear both unless you're playing the game, Aaron.
Good job guys. I love a pod on a field trip
This is so cool to watch it get dark as you’re filming! Thanks for this huge effort, guys!
Is Dusty not on this episode because he's busy, or he just doesn't believe solar eclipse is real?
He believes the eclipse is real but he wanted to be at home with his family while it was happening
He didn't want to be in Nashville "just in case" the rapture happened or something. Lol
He died
Maybe Dusty is beefing with John for being snubbed from the roast so he couldn’t stand to be in the same space with him 😮 Lol jk, I don’t really believe that.
Dusty’s not in this episode because he believes in the eclipse just a little too much
I told my husband on Monday ‘I sure hope the boys are gonna film themselves watching the eclipse’. Thank you for not disappointing!!
As a hardcore comedian fan I can say Nate’s mostly right in saying comedians should stay away from old material. Even if you think most people haven’t heard it. Recently I heard a comic I discovered way back in the mid 90’s, and he told a joke that I remembered vividly from back then. It might have been new to a lot of the people who heard it now but I have to admit I was slightly disappointed that for me it wasn’t new material. I’ve encountered this with quite a few comics that I’ve followed for years, so I truly admire comics like Nate that put in the work to always be fresh and new. As always love you guys in the Nateland world.
- Amy Gilden
Hearing Aaron respond to Nate’s phone reference saying “which one do you use more?” And everyone immediately responding “the sun.” I cackled at that. A great humbling moment for the smart guy.
I would absolutely tune in to a Greg Warren and John Crist podcast!
I made some calls to customer service during the eclipse because I thought the wait times would be shorter and I was right! There were no wait times.
When Nate said he would be 65 at the next eclipse and Aaron responding with "you'd be the same age as Brian now" didn't get the attention it deserved. Hilarious!
Greg is the GOAT guest
Woah!!! Eclipse episode! Very cool gentlemen...
This was so nice that you took the time to get together and do an eclipse episode for us. Nate was so funny teasing everyone. 😂😂😂. All of you were great. Love you, go jackets ❤❤️❤️
I am not much of a news guy, however this was the best coverage of the eclipse I saw, well done fellas, Go Braves
This is the best! I knew dusty wouldn’t leave the house on eclipse day 😂, I did feel weird about it myself I was outside working and it got a little dark and I was waiting to hear the big trumpet, but here we are. Also the footage of the eclipse was awesome.
Johns thumb jokes were great!!!
1:47:42 Nate mentions a “black out” drink and Barndoor looks at Crist and says, “John?” And John loses it for a minute! Absolutely killed me lol
Still laughing about when Nate says Breakfast has a spotter on his back - then I realized he said spider. The eclipse podcast was a great idea and fun to watch it get dark. Love the podcast, have seen all 195 episodes. Keep up the great work!
Congrats to the new baby daddy Aaron! A kids edition in about a year for the podcast would be great, everyone brings their kid on the show even though Nate’s daughter is older than everyone
Greg Warren and John Crist in the same episode?! Couldn't love it more!
Top reasons why this episode made me laugh out loud so many times and is now in my Top 5 of favorite Podcast episodes.
1. The discovery and discussion of John's unusual thumbs.
2. Senior citizenship was represented at an all time high with Greg and Brian being on the same episode
3. Airing from a remote location due to Solar Eclipse
4. Dusty wasn't there since he was hunkered down in a bunker at an undisclosed location.
5. Aaron showing up as if he just made the local Braves little league team
I love these knuckleheads explaining the eclipse!!😁😁
Next week’s episode should be called “The Bunker” and we can get Dusty on location by himself.
The thought of Brian buying index cards at an eclipse store 😂All of you guys are great.
It has taken us over 3 hours to get through this episode because we had to keep pausing and backing it up from laughing so much! We have seen all five of you guys and Dusty in Austin. Going to see Nate again in Austin on the 21st. Can’t wait and thanks for all the laughs!
Everyone having different brand of water bottles is hilarious. Great work!
Fun episode and a cool idea to do it there...but MAN, I bet some live Dusty Eclipse Takes woulda been something else. Thanks as always, folks!
I was just rewatching The Salesman last night so it’s a treat to see ol’ War Dog back on Nateland. And John Crist is back! Happy belated birthday, John! My question is: Was Dusty afraid to come to work today because of the Eclipse or is he mad at John?
He wanted to be home with family, incase the Rapture, or Uncle Sam tries anything funny, and blames it on the eclipse.
when Nate said “this is your favorite part of the Eclipse” to Greg and Brian said “the guys being together” 😂 didn’t get enough love
Two of my sons are named Benjamin and Nathaniel, their names were inspired by two of our most favorite celebrities: Ben Rector and Nate Bargatze. When my wife and I heard the discussion about Nate golfing with Ben, it was worlds colliding and we were both immediately jealous that we weren’t part of the group! Talk about a dream day on the course!
To add another layer, my oldest son is named Theodore but we’ve always call him Bear as a nickname. So we always get a joy out of the Hey Bear to open the show!
“In aught-seven they knocked over a Woolworths” - I laughed harder at that than anything in the podcast. 🤣 Thanks Greg!
Hands down; the best episode so far! I have watched every minute of every episode and this one is the winner!!
Greg and John finishing the pod after the Rapture was one of the funniest bits.
Let’s gooooo
This is such a great idea for a podcast episode!
Great episode guys. But, miss The Dusty. He should've zoomed from his bunker.
This was amazing! So fun to watch you guys watch the eclipse! 😅🌑
Good job to the production crew. What a seamless outdoor podcast.
I pooped in a David’s Bridal during the eclipse to protest the eclipse. I think Dusty would approve. I was having a good time!
So glad you didn't let the eclipse go to waste.
Bates is coming for Bill Nye. First the soda can floating experiment, now note cards to see the eclipse.
ECLIPSE! I love how y’all were talking about UFC and Bingo pronounced Jamahal Hill wrong and Nate corrected him by saying, “I think it’s just Jamal!” Between that and y’all roasting John Crist again without inviting Dusty, this was another great episode!
“Which one do you use more often?” “The sun.” Brian, you are the quickest witted person on this podcast and do not get credit for it. Well done sir! 😂😂😂
CONGRATS, Aaron and Lucy!! So excited for y’all!
Loved the remote podcast, best one yet. Keep up the great content boys! I would be all for Greg Warren making the move to Nashville for regular guest spots.
I saw Greg Warren in Columbia, MO in April. I told my husband that I call him the 5th comic on Nateland! He was great that night. I’m seeing Dusty in a not-theater in St Louis on May 31st. I need Boo-boo Bates and Aaron to come to Stl so I can get all the BAND+g in one year! Hoping to get tickets for Nate this summer. LOVE you all!
Missed Dusty! But his two replacements almost made up for his absence 😂
Great Show! Nateland Entertainment really steps up the production value!
I love how Aaron will roast someone and then say "I wish them well." Or like this episode where he kind of shrugs off the eclipse and then says, "I'm glad we did this." Makes me laugh every time!
Congratulations Aaron!!!
Thank you for reading my comment! It made my day! And proved my point that wrestling is always outshined (or goes to the way side) by something else.
This was a great episode! Greg is the best guest! Even though the eclipse was days ago, it felt like I was there with you watching it happen
That hitchhiker line of Nate's was class. That can literally go in a bit... well maybe John's bit, coz you'd need to show the crowd the thumb
I was in TX and in the path of totality, Austin area. When it got dark, I was outside with my two dogs - they were sleeping on the grass, totally unfazed by anything, even when it got dark...I did hear a cricket briefly during the totality but not much else. Love your podcast, very cool you did a show during the eclipse!
This was pretty awesome 😎 👏 comedy and a cool eclipse 😂you all made this even more monumental
15:35 Bagpipe: “Venus doesn’t have a moon.”
Nate: “So Venus is just light all the time?”
Nate just voicing the assumption that we basically have an eclipse every single night and that’s why it gets dark. I love this podcast so much.
Not having Dusty on this episode is a tragedy. Also, Nate mentioned he expected New York style traffic, we experienced that HARD in Missouri. I am from St. Louis and we traveled south to Cape Girardeau for the eclipse. This is usually about 1hr 45 mins each way. Due to the traffic, we were on the road for over 4 hours on the way home. My in-laws were with us but left about 5 mins before us and they stuck for over 6 hours.
Hello. My name is Donna. I’m 66 and I just found out I have hitchhiker’s thumb! Wow! This is not only an educational podcast, but also now falls in the medical category. We’ve been watching since the first one. Loved the Eclipse sode. Greg and Crist are favs, but missed Dusty.
The eclipse episode should've been out last week haha so I could give my 3rd and 5th grade students all Bates' facts. Then this week watch the whole eclipse as part2. I love you guys. You really are educational.
This episode felt like when we got to have class outside as a kid
It was really cool to have 2 guests, it's funny to see them back each other. Missed Dusty though, I hope he enjoyed his underground bunker.
1:04:47 "It's like the opposite of parentheses." 😂
Glad to see ads were read at a separate time and then inserted throughout the episode! Please keep it up!
I love that Aaron announces he is going to be a dad -- during an add read! Hahahaha
Greg and Nate running circles around John.
Hello Folks, just wanted to tell you all how much I look forward to Wednesdays to laugh with you all. I would imagine with your traveling schedules your wives are saints for handling the home front when you have to travel. Do you find an actual weekend at home is a treat… or do you feel like you are in the way? My husband works late hours and when he would come home early it would completely throw off the nighttime routine. Long time listener, first time ever writing into anything. Thanks for making my Wednesdays amazing !
This is the BEST Nateland ever!!!
WHAT!?!? Y’all were in my hometown of Paducah? I was there for the weekend but left on Sunday because I couldn’t care less about the eclipse so I returned home to Lexington. Had I known y’all would be in Paducah I would have stuck around just to catch a glimpse. Oh well. See you in Lexington at Rupp Arena on May 10!
So glad to hear you guys liked Sacramento! I was born in Nashville and have lived in a town outside Sacramento for most my life and love it to death. Favorite other part of the country is definitely TN as well 👍. Sorry I couldn't make it to the show, currently a Sac State Student and on that broke college life which makes me even more thankful for the podcast 🤠👌👍🙏
Oh! And where did Benjamin Buttons hat come from!? JK Bates, love ya bud. P.S. Darn hippie dogs!
Nate and John together! My 2 favs and an eclipse too.
Same for me! I would like them together without an eclipse because it would happen more often.
That look so incredible!!!!!
