  • We continue our look back at the 1971 to 1972 television season.
Today, we are paying tribute to the CBS classic television series My Three Sons, which wrapped up a long twelve year run fifty years ago this past week , on April 13, 1972.
This video clip is from March 1965 fifth season episode 'Fountain of Youth'. It is one of the first to welcome in William Demarest as Uncle Charlie, and is of particular note since it featured the legendary Gloria Swanson in one of her very last roles. It seems almost surreal to see Ms. Swanson working on a mid-1960s television sitcom, working on those My Three Son's sets, eating cake with William Demarest, so many years after her Sunset Boulevard era feature film career. But looking back now, it makes this role on Sons all the more special and worth remembering. Ms. Swanson looking like a suburban mom in the mid 1960s.
Much more on My Three Sons coming this week as we'll pay tribute and look back at one of television's most beloved series, My Three Sons.
This video clip is presented here on CZcams for the entertainment and informational value of the viewer, and no copyright infringement is intended.
    Enjoy.
"I'm am big. It's the pictures that got small."
    - Norma Desmond, Sunset Boulevard (1950)

Thanks for posting this! Growing up with a B&W TV set, this was one of my favorite shows. If anyone remembers the episode where Uncle Charlie washes the dishes on the lawn with a garden hose, please let me know which it is.
