Way too many decals and way to many dr1s, let alone for Jasta 11, the flying circus. The aircraft was mostly hated for it’s slow speed, high lift, and general difficulty to handle, like the German version of the Sopwith Camel. Another thing is how they didn’t even get those decals right, which the director had no excuses to cock up this badly, even when Jasta 11 was a huge morale booster for the Germans at the time, striking down up to 80 ALONE, Manfred Von Richthofen was the ace of aces, just above Werner Voss. Another famous ww1 dr1 ace at the time. Both lost their lives on the battlefield and never lived to see the world come to an urgent halt of the most brutal war in history come to an end. May the warriors of the skies and the ground be remembered as valiant foes for the enemy. Edit: typo

I think this accurately shows the intensity of the air wars during that time. Seeing this movie made me fall in love with the legend of the Red Baron. I have so much respect for him.

No dramatic yelling, no Michael Bay explosions, just a movie letting the viewer take in the real nature of war and imagine their own depictions of emotions from the characters. Truly a spectacular movie.
This scene is so amazingly well done, yet so sad. I almost cried. When the British fighter got shot down and u could hear the mans screams of terror. That was so sad. Watching all the germans troops die and not know what to do. The way Richthofen and his brother look down watching their own men die brutally. This is a wonderful movie but one of the most depressing scenes ever.

Got the all red part right too. No white tail, no white engine cowling, no white wheels or spoked wheels. The only white part of his Fokker was the area around the Iron Crosses. Sadly that's one of very few things it did get correct.
@Yuri DeKhed yeah, those are anti-bomber balloons specifically floated to disturb bomber attack. they continue to used it up to ww2 to some degree, since bombers flew higher at that time. but it's still effective to halt ground attack and dive bomber effectiveness.

But he died by getting too eager and basically disobeyed his own rules of flying and chased the enemy down on the deck, which could’ve destroyed his wings at the altitude he was at at the time of his death

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Those are observation balloons. One flare alone absolutely will not kill any one observation balloon without oxygen mixing with the hydrogen, hence the gunfire first. The "string" you speak of in barrage balloons didn't (intentionally) cut the wings of any Great War aircraft because barrage balloons weren't conceived until 1940. And even still, they wouldn't "cut" it but rather tear it off because the fastest of these planes could fly up to 150-200 mph, against a steel cable an inch thick.

It does actually depict The Flying Circus very well, instead of just have bland colors and The Red Baron painted bright red.

flyboys had alot of opertunity but the directors decided to make all the planes look exacly that same, but it did have good special effects.
The special effects in the movie Flyboys were rediculous, nowhere near accurate.

Yes those blimps are barrer blimps because if a pilot crashes the engine dies cuz the material of the blimp or if the wing touches the string that connects the blimps to the floor the wings cut because most plane of ww1 were made of wood

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Those are observation balloons. One flare alone absolutely will not kill any one observation balloon without oxygen mixing with the hydrogen, hence the gunfire first. The "string" you speak of in barrage balloons didn't (intentionally) cut the wings of any Great War aircraft because barrage balloons weren't conceived until 1940. And even still, they wouldn't "cut" it but rather tear it off because the fastest of these planes could fly up to 150-200 mph, against a steel cable an inch thick.
