I was in elementary/middle school in the 2000s. I started 8th grade in 2009. Crazy how nobody is on their cell phones. Even in the very early 2010s it wasn't super common.
@@Theoriginalotaku96 man honestly for my current classmates it’s all phones and social media…why couldn’t I have just been born in the 70s or 80s instead of a disgusting year called “2008” 🤮🤮
This actually made me shed a tear of joy and happiness. Class of 2008 here. Sparkman High School Senators. I miss my high school classmates and friends. I only talk to a few close ones every so often. Everyone has a life and has to achieve adulthood to its fullest. I am still a kid at heart though. Can't help it lol
Class of 2009 here. I felt that things in society started to change that year, but it was still pretty simple. No smartphones or instant access to social media. I got out of high school right before the rise of smartphones which I am really glad. I remember after I graduated, everyone suddenly moved from MySpace to Facebook. Oh and the MySpace days, you needed to go to an actual computer in order to have access to it.
The worst problem I had with cell phones back then was hip dialing due to my Spanish class being in an auditorium and the seats being tight (I kept everything in my front pocket).
I graduated in 2002 from high school, graduated in 2006 from college, and had my son in 2008. I agree with another commenter that things started to shift in a negative way around 2009-2010. I miss the simplicity of those days. Sad elder millennial here 😂
Class of 2005 here. I grew up in the latter 1990s. The early 2000s were an extension of that period from a fashion standpoint, which seems to have nosedived since then. Had some fun times in the hallways and classrooms, but some stressful times, too. Still, glad I got through those years when I did. Favorite grad song: Holiday by Green Day.
Class of 2007 here, and this is making me feel nostalgic and old. While the 2000s weren’t perfect, being a teen back then still beats being a teen now or even during the 2010s. Life was still somewhat simple then and we weren’t yet dealing with the problems and crises that adulthood threw at us.
I graduated high school in 1997 so I just missed being a 2000s teenager! I got close enough though but I would have enjoyed graduating in 2000 or even 2001. Those are just my initial thoughts.
@qu3646 class of '05 here. It's crazy to think that are now full-fledged humans who were born after I graduated, such simpler times, I wish I could back with what I know now.
Feels weird in a way (dunno why). Wonder what it'd been like for me if I experienced those days. School life has evolved but I don't think the mentality of a vast number of teens have. If anything it has deteriorated.
High School years (2007-2010) -Hollister & Ambercrombie was life -Phones were only used for calls/texts -Everyone had a iPod for music -We had CZcams, MySpace, & Facebook -CZcams was a brand new concept -Online gaming was fairly new -Xbox Live on the XBox 360 was popular -Kids went online on desktop computers -Either chatted on AIM or edited your MySpace -Had to edit your “Top 8” friends list -Had to switch up your profile song -Around 2009 Facebook became popular -We used CZcams for music & funny video’s -Soon as I graduated, everything changed -Was the last generation without IG & Snapchat
Also, you know it's 2000 when the camera quality is low and someone is wearing a 90s rainbow shirt @0:25. It must be 1999-2000 so the decade just started.
Class of '05. It was the best time ever to be a teenager. The feels watching this are palpable.
The last years of freedom
no
It took me a minute to remember that this was my generation and I was a high schooler in the 2000s. It feels like a totally foreign time now.
