Being an older ARMY (my sons are older than Jin- and no, they cannot figure out my BTS obsession), this songs is my style ! I do love almost everything they do, but this song is different. I love the complex, smooth, smoky jazz feel it has. V’s style hits me hard. He is a real fan of jazz and his solo songs reflect that. He says his mixtape is very jazzy, and I’m here for it ! Jimin and Jin’s high notes, the harmonizing, jk’s ad libs, scat, his notes, v’s soulful voice.... this song has it all ! This song was ahead of its time. It deserves a Grammy !

On the topic of main vocalist and what not, personally I looooove jimin’a voice, but I’m glad he’s not the main vocal because that man would run himself to the ground if he had that extra pressure, he would practice and practice and never rest. Also all of bts have developed a lot but you need to remember that when they debuted the only vocal that was stable was jungkook, the rest have improved greatly and now there is not much of a difference. What is still different is the stamina, jk is the most consistent one and he’s the youngest so naturally has more strength so he is able to get through all the songs in concert

Exactly. They decide what’s best for them. And at the moment, I don’t think labels/titles mean much anymore as they are all accomplished dancers, singers, and rappers who perform their songs the way they want.💜

I truly believe that those of us from older generations appreciate their older stuff in a different way than the younger ones. Not “better,” but different. We have different life/style/music comparisons to make.
After hearing this, I realize how much their voices have matured stylistically but their emotional output was so raw for their young age. They're so impressive.
The vocal line has the harmonies on lock. There are certain BTS songs that I will only listen to the live version strictly for this reason. House of Cards bc of the emotion given during the performance. Ma City bc honestly you need the growl of RM. 🤪
When my girl first got me into BTS, I wore out House of Cards. She had to put a pause on it for a month. Said mom I love you, I love BTS but there are other songs.
Solo stans are the weirdest to me. All the guys say to love BTS. Ok. You’re a solo stan. Then why aren’t you listening to them? All the members are always talking about how great it is that Namjoon is the leader. Jimin has videos of him sitting in a room with Namjoon helping him write the lyrics for Promise. Yoongi has said that he was sorry bc he sees the immense pressure on his shoulders. Namjoon never really takes credit for much. Watch one of his album reviews & he talks about how hard the members are working. It’s a freaking TEAM effort. Jin said in The SOOP that BTS has helped him become a better person & he doesn’t know if he would be so motivated if he hadn’t joined BTS. Okay now I’m just ranting. It’s just burns me when someone calls themselves Army but completely ignores their mission & philosophy that they decided on as a group. The new Festa coming out right? JK called Army his mentors, RM said beautiful, Tae said best friend,Yoongi said everything can’t remember the sorry but the translation is in Twitter. This is why my house is OT7. 💜💜💜

House of cards is so mature, so emotional and each one of vocal line kills it (i love the live band too). I think i was one of the ones defending Jungkook when all that happened in your comments. Some people you can't argue with when their mind is set though. Jimin took my attention first of all and he makes me feel stuff always but I'm jointly biased with them both now, Jungkook just blows my mind each time. That being said Jin's quality, the way he sings and how he's grown so much and Tae's amazing unique tone and range, it staggers me how anyone can criticise any of them. BTS would not be the amazing level they are if just one of the 7 wasn't around.
Their voices goes so extremly well together but still have their own special identity and texture so it's easy to keep them apart and know exactly who is singing. I must say that they are extremly good singers. This is the group where even if there are 7 of them, everything went right when putting every single one of them together as a group. BTS is something else and so unique. Is there something they can't do? I doubt it.
I'm with you on this one. I had no idea about this song and for some reason I resisted listening to it for a long time. Once I did, it was all over. It's been in my repeat playlist ever since I heard it the first time. Such dark beauty. And the vocal line killed, they slayed this song, particularly in the live performance, which I thought outshone the recording even though when I first heard it as a recording, I thought it couldn't get better. I was wrong about that. Truly, this song by itself is a great song because of the lyrics, the instrumentation, the rhythm, the feel, and so many things, but it goes beyond great because of their skills, talent, and hard work, and the passion they put into this performance. There isn't much I wouldn't do to be able to experience them singing it live just one time.

Wow i never heard anything about Ppl wanting Jimin to be a leader that’s something new and I’m gonna have to say they’re crazy cuz Namjoon is the perfect leader. Every last one of them is needed. There is no BTS without either member. There is no one else that can fill either spot, no substitutes. It is very easy to spot solo stans, and its disgusting. Like what are you here for? The looks of a member? Cause it's very clear that it isn't for the message they place within the music. You can have your biases, but at the end of the day, we are all OT7.
Well said, I dont even know how people have a bias! i just cant settle on one. 7 world class talents in one group, no weakness, no one being taken along for the ride, every one contributing all the time and delivering ALL of the time. I got into a fight with solo stans on one of these Jimin videos. Its always jk or v. If jimin was a solo artist he would be just as popular. Are you crazy? Have you heard about Harry Styles of one direction and how popular he is, but to get to how big one D is he's not there just yet except for getting a grammy? Well have you heard about dimash a good singer and do you hear his songs on radio or where in the US or the west? I wondered how could they be so foolish as they wouldn't even known jimin without bts.
When I praised everyone and talked about v's dark coloring and how even in sweetness, his voice had a dark tinge on the high notes. 'She's a v bias,' they said 'From how you describe his voice.' I'm like you lied and didn't read my previous comments. I'm OT7 and my ultimate bias is suga. So I told them suga is the member that has made me laugh and cry the most. After that, I called out all those who had deleted comments and told them that whoever had said jk was overrated should come here. Who ever said jimin should have been a solo artist should come too. I was planning to wipe the floor. No one said anything.
I love Jimin and I'm on his videos a lot; but these solo stans, man. Like just comment, why bring jk or v into it? And the one voice whose voice is most like jimin's is the one they don't see as competition: Jin. This says a lot about their foolishness. Asking"why is jk even a sub rapper?" Like do you wanna get slapped? To ask such a question shows you aren't an army. I posted links about jk.
Another V hater was on V's video saying oh you do v a lot to the reactors, we wanna hear about others. Called herself army, give donations etc. I thanked her then told her to leave the fandom cuz she said so much after that first comment. V is so selfish. He doesn't thank armys. He pushed jin from in front of the camera when jin was talking. Like, do you know BTS? They do that all the time. It was a bad place for her cuz tae biased fans go so hard, and yet they were nice enough at the same time telling her to know more and back off. She was still saying He's handsome so he gets lot of attention not even that talented.Girl, I am gonna get violent. At this point, I'd rather avoid them. Its so difficult as they r just everywhere spreading their toxicity. Pdogg situation comes to mind.

They are all crazy talented. They all blend well together. If I am not mistaken, the guys agreed that JK would be the main vocalist. I think he had more experience singing. The audition he lost which led him to BigHit still garnered him 7 offers from entertainment companies. We all know that he chose BH because he thought RM was cool. I love House of Cards. It is my favorite vocal line song.
I love early BTS. Love Maze, Coffee, Just One Day, Hold Me Tight, I like It In that Place, Tomorrow, I Need You, Home, Make It Right, Am I Wrong Ma City, .......just so many really good songs They were trained in a manner that allows them to avoid the Ego and embrace the notion that the 7 together are more important than each individual. They live by that. They learned they can still express their individual (solo)music preferences while being members of a group. They enlist one another’s help on solo projects. They write songs which they may end up giving to the group, but it was intended for a solo mixtape. Solo stans are toxic to BTS. Really, they are toxic to any group because their views feed egos. We have seen some great groups breakup because a member felt more important than the group, but the group is what made them a success.
They have in their contract that they will not as individuals appear in other artists videos. Suga has produced hits and the artists want him to appear in their videos. He declined. They only will appear in another artists’ video if it’s the group, 7 or nothing.
They kept that clause in the contract they renewed last year.
The rest of the members themselves respect and believe in each and everyone's positions. They have each others back and support. They treat each other as family. Those solo stans are blinded with their craziness over their fave member. Better for them to stay away from social medias and get a life!

who said that jungkook should not be the main vocalist?! My favorite voice is Jimin but Jungkook is very stable and he can do any any genre. They picked the members position perfectly as jungkook as the main vocalist and jimin as the lead vocalist.. I think rm mentioned before in one of his lives that I've watched.. not exactly the words but he said that jk and jimins voice goes well together.. jk brings the perfect technique and Jimin brings the crisp into it.. for example in that steve aoki collab.. only rm and jk were featured but jimin did the back up vocals... and jin and tae (V) also improved a lot, like a lot.... all of them brings unique color, they are really my personal favorite vocal line among kpop groups because of the diversity and the uniqueness of each member....

I Love BTS so much & I'm almost 53 years old . I'd never been so obsessed to any boyband or singer the way I liked them. Their music makes me feel young and back again in my younger years. This Live version , it's more wonderful to watch and listen to their live vocals performances.
I am an older Army, although I love their entire discography, HoC is my style because I love jazz and blues. JK's scatting in this song just took it to another lever. The beat, the harmony, and the differences in the vocals made this song one of my favorites.

J-Hope is dancer too. unique. they have their own skills and roles in band. without anyone , if you take one off , bts is not bts anymore. Jimin is maindancer, i think he dont wanna be mainsinger . bh knows what is best to the group. We dont have to worry about that. just enjoy off music and results. The stage you just watched for House of Cards is such a legendary, iconic moment. You see them all soaked in sweat, at the very end of that concert, exhausted, and yet delivering like bosses. (Just for your reference, Kook was around 17 here :-) )
That song is such a robust beast - atmospheric, dripping with emotions, structured beautifully and their vocals are spot on. I love it and never tire of it. Theme of James Bond definitely comes to mind, you are not the first one picking on it :-) There is another one, called "Truth untold" equally good, but "House of cards" is my personal favorite .
Thank you for standing your ground, refusing to be used as an argumentative proxy ( regardless of what your personal taste is or who your favorite vocal is) in solo stan wars. It is shameful how much slander Jungkook has been receiving through years just because someone´s fancy may sway towards another member and envy eats them alive. People do not even realize what a main vocalist position means - it is not just some kind of fancy ego boosting title of privilege. Very same applies to Hoseok as their dance leader and RM as their group leader. Those "titles" come with incredible responsibility and ton of extra super hard work demands on each of them, not to even mention needed sturdy mental endurance the responsibility calls for. They carry that on their shoulders day in day out. They do it for the whole group´s best not for their own benefit. Why some people refuse to see that is beyond me. Jungkook is without any doubt most stable, most varied, most flexible and most consistent ( on records and during their lives) so they utilize him to the maximum.There is nothing strange about that. . All of the boys work really hard and continue improving which is admirable. They all are like a beautiful puzzle, perfectly completed, with only one piece missing, it wouldn´t be the same.

MonQ, today, there are very FEW performers today who can sing live. BTS makes this look easy and it helps that their voices aren't fooled with on the records so you get them live! 😏
They are all good. I like V most but i always think that JK is a brilliant singer. He makes the song performance perfect with his singing and adlibs.

Jungkook is our Korean’s national main vocal!!!! Even Bts vocal line said without JK, they cannot sing this good. Jungkook is Bts’s private vocal teacher and that’s what Bts members said. Those rude people should respect our main vocal!!!! That jazzy run was also JK.
Dont just watch jK videos. If you watch others too you will get educated in their excelllent group dynamics where they have at some time or other said it for each member that without that member the group would not function.

One of my favorites! I love it better live than the studio version. All four are very talented vocalists, and they each their strengthens and weaknesses and they each stay in their lane when singing which is the reason they are so good. I love them all, and they each have something different to bring to the table. While I’m on that subject, the rappers are the same way! They are all good, and they each have different techniques, and ways of rapping and I love it all.

I love OT7 (all members). Each of them is equally important and vital. RM is the leader of the group since BTS was created because of him. Suga is one of the main rapper as well as producer like RM and JHope. Jin is the main visual and vicalist. JHope is the dance leader coz he’s the best dancer as far as hiphop or street dance or KPop etc. Jimin is the main dancer and lead vocals coz he’s a phenomenal dancer and vocalist. V is a vocalist, dancer and visual. Jungkook is the main vocalist, dancer and center of the group coz he could do everything, from singing to dancing to rapping etc. BTS wouldn’t be BTS if one member is missing. Just like what V always says, BTS are seven member so we all should love and support all seven members.

This song reminds me of a symphony where various instruments handle various parts. These guys are arranged the same way. This just drowns me in the right sound for each note! Their arrangers need awards as well as some of their English translators.
You are right on BTS being right for James Bond. They have done several pieces adopted as OSTs. ‘Your Eyes Tell’ has been taken for a Japanese movie due to come out in October, 2021. It was written by JungKook. You can find the lyrics, a live performance, and an incredible trailer for the movie, I think under that name.
There is another stunning and amazing song that I’m sure you will like done by the vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook) call The Truth Untold. Just beautiful.

Yes, they are called solo stans. I love all members and their voices and they are all great. JK is the main vocal, because he is the most stable and does majority of the adlibs and vocal guides for the songs. You can find that JK is credited in most of all BTS songs. RM has even stated that there would be no BTS without JK and that he is irreplaceable. Even in Korea during their newer years, they had a saying that "without JK, there is no BTS". While the other vocalists were still trying to find their sound/voice and be confident about it, in the early days, JK pretty much carried the group vocally. JK had the most lines and adlibs...Korean Army have said they notice JK hardly puts his mic down during performances, because he has so many parts. Sometimes people who are consistently great are taken for granted, because it just becomes expected. All vocalists in BTS have come into their own styles of singing, have distinctive voices, and I am living for it. (I know my rant was a little more JK focused, but there is a reason JK is te main vocal.)

My heart skipped a beat when I saw you posted a reaction of this gem. Love this! Songs like these got me hooked on BTS. My reaction was soooo similar to yours, I had to laugh out loud. The Bond-reference as well... well we are in the same age group! My daughter introduced me to BTS and we share the love for them but we have different favourite genres in their music. This one she calls "mama-music" hahaha. Funny enough I like the hiphop and rap more than she does. She’s more into the pop and EDM songs than me. However we love all of it, both of us. And we stan all of them fullhearted. I’m so impressed by BTS and the people around them how well the use their different talents to make top-notch music and performances. Solo stans are a curse. It crazy cuz the guys don't like them and don't give them not an inch of attention.
Every member is needed and bring something special to the group. Solo stans want to cause dissention so the group can disband. They are used to being catered to in this industry and BTS/BH doesn't give them that. So we just report and block them every single time.

Solo stans are the most aggravating people to attempt to speak to....they only see their favorite and no one else...the levels they go to discredit any of the other members would piss off their favorite but they dont care. They have zero knowledge of technicality and just like to look at their favorite. Period. JK earned the lead singer because hes very versatile as well as he can perform, dance and sing at the same time while still sounding amazing...thats why JK is lead singer. I love all 7 and they are all amazing but they are put in their positions for a reason
