Analysing argument (a.k.a language analysis) focuses on deciphering how authors use language in a particular way with the intention of persuading an audience. We all do this to some degree in our own lives, whether it's asking rhetorical questions, using anecdotes, or inclusive language - we're all subconsciously (or consciously!) persuading others. This video delves into how you can potentially structure your analysing argument essay :)

Hi Lisa, just wondering if you could possibly make a video on how to identify argument/s in articles? Our school is doing a lot of heavy focus on finding the arguments that authors are putting forward in their pieces to assist in constructing our analysis.

I wanted to know for the body paragraph you had a topic sentence and then you provided both side of the argument from two different articles, did you paraphrase the evidence or is is when you pick the evidence do I need to interpret what they are trying to say.

    Hi Lisa,
I'm from New South Wales and I heard you have English bundle books for high school students. I'm in Yr 11 and doing English Standard for Prelim and the HSC. Are these books relevant to what I'm studying for English Standard?
