Analysing argument (a.k.a language analysis) focuses on deciphering how authors use language in a particular way with the intention of persuading an audience. We all do this to some degree in our own lives, whether it's asking rhetorical questions, using anecdotes, or inclusive language - we're all subconsciously (or consciously!) persuading others. This video delves into how you can potentially structure your analysing argument essay :)

See you there Rachid!
Thanks! I have a test on two days on language analysis, I was nervous, now I'm not!!!
Hi Lisa, just wondering if you could possibly make a video on how to identify argument/s in articles? Our school is doing a lot of heavy focus on finding the arguments that authors are putting forward in their pieces to assist in constructing our analysis.
i wonder how this went 2 years later

Great video! Can you do a vlog of a your daily life if you want to?
I've lost memory on how to write a language analysis haha thank you for a thorough discussion :)
My pleasure haha!
HI Lisa, do you have a structure for analysing an argument with just one article? Much appreciated, Will :)
Thanks
I wanted to know for the body paragraph you had a topic sentence and then you provided both side of the argument from two different articles, did you paraphrase the evidence or is is when you pick the evidence do I need to interpret what they are trying to say.
I have an analysis of 2 arguments that must be compared and contrasted any idea how i can accomplish this ?
Our Yr 12 sac of this is tomorrow!! Thank you SO MUCH
Olive_Music are you doing VCE ? If so, isn't the analytical response outcome 1 or something ?
I don't know about other schools but we're doing it next week. Outcome 1 for us was 'This Boy's Life' persuasive essay
I hope you did well!
@Fizz Vine you don't wanna know 😂 i didn't end up using my atar score and did a diploma instead to get into my bachelor
Ahh. ... . this would've been helpful last week. But it's okay because now I have this information for my exam
Glad to see it's still helpful for you!
Hi Lisa,
I'm from New South Wales and I heard you have English bundle books for high school students. I'm in Yr 11 and doing English Standard for Prelim and the HSC. Are these books relevant to what I'm studying for English Standard?
Hey Rhyne, there's definitely lots of overlap between our syllabuses so my answer in short is, YES!
I would love more advice for EALD specifically. =)
There’s plenty more on my website, please have a look there! Don’t post as much EAL on CZcams :)
I'm still in year 11 VCE, we are still at analyzing one article at a time, for me it is hard to find the arguments of the writer, do u have any tips on that
Same man, did you ever figure out how to identify them?
@@dhruvgore xD.. Year 12 Now and I still struggle.. tbh it is my issue.. if I practice more.. I can get better but since Im not aiming for a high atar or study score for eal Im not giving it my all.. but I hope you give it all you have and trust me you will get better..
@@judehoms704 what was your ATAR?
Hi Lisa
This is totally unrelated to this video but how many subjects maximum can you do for VCE?

My sac is in an hour and idk how to write a language analysis
