No one can be jailed unless their crime has been proven in a court of law. And nothing has been proven yet.

Wow, three former IAS/IPS officers sitting in an interview criticizing the system. But you are the system. You can't blame it because you are the ones who make the rules. Even a common man can see the flaws in the UPSC selection criteria. How come they never noticed it?

Perhaps this family has very strong connexion with such people on whom institutions are afraid of takeing legitimate steps. This precedence stigmatise the highest post of administration. From now on people may doubt on their credibility.

Aren't lessons on moral conduct and ethical behaviour already part of the selection and training process? What good will more lessons and essay writing do? There are multiple issues with the UPSC CSE exam. Also the structure of the Indian bureaucracy needs a reform.
One issue that is ignored is candidates who have already been selected for services other than IAS, IPS and IFS. These candidates accept offices in services like the IRS and then apply for long leave to continue with their preparation for the three glamorous service. I feel allowing this is wrong from an ethical pov. Every candidate says that he/she public service is the top most priority for him /her. Then why are the reluctant to serve in these less glamorous roles? So obviously their priority is something else. Therefore I think if a candidate accepts a position any of the services they should not be allowed to attempt the exam again. However there should be provision for departmental candidates. Those who have served a minimum number of years in any of the services should be allowed to apply for other higher services like the IAS or IPS.

Are you all really so naive? We all know what happens when a person becomes a bureaucrat. Even brilliant officers are human and prone to corruption and entitlement. Please don’t waste time on such debates. Nothing is going to change after this incident.

These people are there to serve😅 the people of this country' not have a luxury life and steal public money. The tax payer is paying their salaries and everything they are entitled to. People have the right to ask questions. It's our money not their father's property.
