    Did you crunch the numbers though? Some of these players would have to play till they're 40 just to approach the record

    • @HeatCheckProductions
      @HeatCheckProductions  Před měsícem +4

      I actually did crunch the numbers and came to the same conclusion. That's why I opted for younger players, since I can somewhat factor in their potential scoring improvement over time to maybe approach the record earlier than their expected pace, if tht makes sense? But yea, realistically Lebron's longevity will be hard to replicate and will make the record borderline impossible to reach. 20+ years of elite productivity is actually insane. I think the only guy with a legitimate shot as of now is Luka

    A factor I think also needs to be considered is LeBrons multiple deep playoff runs.
    If you take another scorer who's had a healthy 21 season career with similar averages but very few deep playoff runs, he'd be at least 5000 points behind Bron.

    • @HeatCheckProductions
      @HeatCheckProductions  Před měsícem +1

      Forgot to mention this in the video, but i'm referring Lebron's regular season points record in the video, postseason points were not included. You make a very valid point though and I definitely would've considered playoff runs if I was looking at postseason points as well!

    • @freddypyotr3771
      @freddypyotr3771 Před 2 dny

      The playoff runs is actually a disadvantage for LeBron if his only goal is the regular season scoring record. Playoffs add wear and tear to the body. If he is resting during playoffs he might have 43k by now.

  • @HeatCheckProductions
    @HeatCheckProductions  Před měsícem +1

    Hey everyone! Just a quick clarification that I forgot to mention in the video: Lebron's scoring record I'm referring to in this video is strictly the regular season points record, playoff points were not taken into consideration. The list likely would've looked a bit different if I was looking at regular season and playoff points.

      @HeatCheckProductions  Před měsícem

      Glad you enjoyed the vid! I think statistically Luka is the only one actually on pace to contend with the record. The real challenge comes with maintaining that pace for 15+ more years. Bron is simply in a league of his own rn when it comes to longevity

      @HeatCheckProductions  Před měsícem

      @@Florian-yk8vg Statistics wise, Luka is certainly in contention for Lebron's regular season scoring record. Like I said in the video tho, the only thing that holds Luka back is that he only averages around 60-65 games a season. But yea, if Luka doesn't consistently start playing 70+ games a season, then it'll be nearly impossible to catch the record

    • @Florian-yk8vg
      @Florian-yk8vg Před měsícem

      @@HeatCheckProductionssry but thats just not true. luka has 11,146 points as of today and he is 25 years old. lebron had almsot 14k points before his 25th birthday. thats more than a full season of high volume scoring more than luka has at the same age. luka is already behind, he would have to average a lot more points than lebron did for the next 15 years to even have a shot. like you said, he just already missed too many games. no way he catches lebron. noone currently in the league will (maybe MAYBE victor but i dont see it since he is a defense first player basically).

    • @HeatCheckProductions
      @HeatCheckProductions  Před měsícem

      @@Florian-yk8vg Ur definitely right in saying Lebron has a seasons worth of high volume scoring lead on Luka. I had mentioned in the video that Lebron coming straight from highschool already gave him a "headstart" on everyone else, so I definitely agree with you there. My justification for Luka being somewhat in contention is due to his ability to put up higher scoring averages than Lebron ever has, and will likely continue to do so for a few more seasons. So he potentially can make up some ground there is essentially my main point, if that makes sense. Is it likely? Probably not. But theoretically if Luka can mostly maintain his current scoring averages and stay healthy, he certainly has a better shot than anyone else in the league rn

    I don't think anyone of these players will break or even come close to breaking the Scoring Record. LeBron James is not done yet and will add more piles of dimes before he goes on and hang his jersey. I think it'll be done by half-cyborg players of the future where scores may inflate to insane levels that will bore people who will watch it, but if sports decides that it will remain an area that A.I. will not touch, only pure human domain then I think it will be hard since that person would have to be drafted when he is still 18 years old and continue that excellence for 20 years and more straight.

    I see what youre trying to do, and like the concept, but you missed key criteria. Bron has always been a playoff threat, adding dozens of additional games. Guys like Trae who dont play efficient, winning basketball, have almost no chance of breaking that record. Jayson Tatum being the flip side of this, as he has and will be playing deep into playoffs year after year. You have to factor in their history of/projected playoff contention. (Not going to get in to the fact that neither Trae nor Donovan are known as available stars, they miss a lot of games man)

      @HeatCheckProductions  Před měsícem

      Definitely some valid points. My mistake for not clarifying in the video, but the scoring record i'm referring to is the regular season points record. If postseason points were included then this list definitely would've looked a bit different

So no, Curry has 0 chances of breaking Lebron's record😂😂😂. KD could definitely have a relistic chance to do it if he wasn't soo many times injured, but right now it is over, he will never do it.
