Painting Picard Bust with Gaahleri Mobius Airbrushes

This video gives you a look at the new Mobius airbrushes from Gaahleri. The Mobius airbrushes are from Gaahleri's Performance Line and will be available in a special Celestial Collection honoring the Year of the Dragon. It will be up on their site as of Feb 25th. Since the brushes are designed for fine detailing, I decided to try them out using a painting technique I learned at Wonderfest in 2021 by modeler Randy Van Dyke on a bust of Picard. The technique results in a more realistic skin tone with natural color variations. A summary of the technique is available to my subscribers free of charge.
The incredible Picard bust was designed by Antonio Dato on CGTrader and has an incredible likeness of the famous Star Trek captain. More of his work can be found at the link below.

Splendid work. The Gaalheri brushes are extremely pleasing. I always feel a little "Wow!" happening when I open my box and see it. I've had mine since they first released and if anything the performance has improved. My Iwatas havent seen very much use since the Mobius' arrived.

Another great video. With all your sci fi builds, I’m a wee bit surprised you haven’t built an ED 209. That would be an amazing kit to “bash” and add lights and more details to the mechanical systems.
Also,,, I recently picked up the Hasegawa Ma K. Camel kit. If you check out other videos of those who have built it, it’s fantastic for detailing, but especially for adding lighting to the cockpit. Cheers

Was there a sweet spot for air pressure?
That paint filter looked interesting. I now filter my paints. Had some annoying incidents with airbrushes clogging, when I first started. I use nylon empty tea bags, as I could not find something specific for airbrushes.
thanks for the compliments. I used about 15 psi for the most part. As for the paint cups, yes I have had problems with clogging and have tried various methods but these work really well. I’m not aware of one. I just attended the panel and recorded a few steps.
Search for "Grex Model Figure Flesh Tone Airbrushing Video Series". Its a series of videos I found a few years ago, that if not identical is very similar to the technique shown. Though I think they were meant for larger scale, it gives awesome details on the skin.
