John I never get bored listening to you always a very interesting watch, I stopped going to France to carp fish during Covid and started barbel fishing in the uk after 51 years absence, absolutely love it and your advise is a inspiration to get me back out there at 65yrs of age thank you.

What a good bloke. I've mailed John a few times, and he always responds and gives great, sensible advice. The few flavours I have of his (I hope to buy more in the future) are fantastic and they work. Zero nonsense and hype with John. In an age where image and how you look and sound is presented as more important than what you actually KNOW, John Baker is REAL.
Real nice guy advised me on a easy to roll base mixes I done it by hand and i still caught a few 30 lb fish. Got a small kitchenaid mixer does half a kilo no messing, a full kilo if you want to help it a little. Same for the electric caulking gun takes the work out of. I use John's supermilk for hook baits, been adding a touch of Robin orange to get a washed out gold colour. I use his TM1 flavour and plum.
JB Flavours are 2nd to NONE !! and his advice is flawless , a lil' tweak with Johns advice got my Milk base mix with TM1 and Bun Spice EO combo smashing my local club lakes when others using high profile brand 'ready mades' ask me wtf I was using . John knows his stuff and his products are unique and a quality that doesn't fade to keep costs down. Steve M
A syndicate I used to fish had some interesting rules.. No Bivies until September, only stormsides on a brolly.. no barrows.. you must carry your kit unless disabled, only hemp-sweetcorn tiger nuts can be used for particles and only in moderation ( 2 2 pint bait boxes was a guide).. I miss that style of fishing :) Pleasure watching John .. thank you
Thank you for bringing BS4 back. It was the very first flavour of yours that I used in a Frost & Flood base mix, it caught me a 12 1/2 lb barbel from Aldermaston Mill way back when you bought out the book Modern Barbel Baits.
After " taking back control" in December and not just going predominantly camping ive had over forty 20 + lb carp and nine 30+ on Taste F2 , Chicken Tikka ,TM1 recipe ! thanks John keep the vlogs coming
Top man john is with some verry valid points . I was rolling my own baits a few years back using eggs green lip musscel ground bait with freshly cooked crushed up tigar nuts rolled in with it nothing else no additives or flavors !!! Boiling for 70 seconds they had pretty much no smell once done . Two of the waters with top anglers i was on at the time was dominated by stickey main line and bait worx but they just could not compare to mine in the results i achieved and i am just an average angler but my baits caught me some very rare to the bank carp some even considerd dead!! and i also out fished them all on the numbers side of it i had a couple of people offering me £20 a kg for bait which i turned down 😆 i no longer fish for carp now so if either of you two read this you now know what i was on 😂😂
Not sure where or when I heard this but in Australia farmers were having issues with rabbits that were eating they're fence posts. It was later discovered that the rabbits were deficient in something, and whatever the fence posts were treated with had what the rabbits were deficient in. 🧠🐰
Just found you loving the vids and I will be using your products this year I’ve been dabbling with my own bait for years but just never been confident with my own levels. Now I found something and can’t wait to get using your knowledge and product
Just stumbled upon this Chanel and really is a great insight. I’ve fell in to the trap of loading my hook bait and pre bait with so much liquids….. think now I’ll change my approach. Do you have recipes, easy to follow pre set ones I could follow and roll
Love the idea of baiting upstream to pull the barbel out of the snags , simple but genius . The Korda podcast when Simon hosted it was amazing with John about the flavour and following the sticks on the river is a fantastic listen.

Great guy, great information and what a fresh perspective on Carp fishing. Ordered my first Carp bait mixes from you John a couple of weeks ago and can’t wait to mix up and use them. PS, I’m so tempted to bin all my glugs, sprays, dips and bright pop ups. Thank you John for helping me to totally rethink my Carp fishing.
Glugs , Dips , Sprays and bright pop ups also have their days , keep everything in your armoury , nobody's advice is right or wrong its the application that makes you a smart angler. Steve M

Fair play to ur pal that caught on none flavoured baits I’ve often thought do carp like unflavoured bait a bit like humans what I’m saying is I drink loads of water 💦 I love it it’s not flavoured but I love it thanks for the content John 👍
I do have a recipe that i use on summer and i only put eggs . No flavour no liquids attractor nothing not even fishmeal I just break eggs and make boilies. Fish goes crazy about it. But my ingredients are top quality a little expensive but top quality. I was designed it and testing it for many years and the result came 8 years ago. Now it is my only choice when i go in summer carp fishing.
I totally agree with what you have said but unfortunately social media now draws the crowds Keep up the good work but please stop giving those secrets away
John, you once mentioned, you would not go back to France, while there are restrictions on taking your own bait. Here you mentioned, you went there again, and took 6 k of your own bait. Good on you. But i must ask. Have the bait laws been lifted now.

When I worked at the original Tails up with Jim we never used flavours, everything was in the base mix. Grade A powders etc
