    Here I am test riding the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE which I really thought would have been far too heavy for me to be able to push off the side stand let alone ride. But I was pleasantly surprised by the way the weight is kept low down despite the tall stature of the bike.

    Nice ride review. Thanks for pointing out how the owner lowered the suspension. For me at 5' 7", I would need to do this. I greatly enjoyed your review. I love the Versys 1000 LT. it's the one for me! I too enjoy the inline 4 engine as you do. it has the tech I want too. Thanks again, well done!

    Just subscribed! As a fellow shorty, I appreciate your efforts here. Please keep producing your reviews. I have watched them all so far and I now have a pretty good idea of what YOU are looking for in a bike. From this prospective, I have taken your comments and have filtered them according to my preferences.
    I think you desire a bike with at least 110hp with mid to high levels of torque . . . something that will induce the giggle effect when the throttle is twisted. Others may be perfectly happy, even ecstatic, about the power produced by bikes that fall short of what you desire.
    Unfortunately, the vast majority of adventure motorcycles are just too tall and heavy (especially when loaded for touring) for short riders with average riding skills. Bikes with power that can produce the giggle effect you desire are at the larger end of this list . . . with seat heights above 830mm and wet weights above 230kg/500lbs.
    Even though I would like to experience the same thrills (power) with my daily ride that you had when riding bikes like the BMW 1250GS, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Yamaha Tracer 900, my preference will lean further toward a motorcycle that I can physically handle.
    Again, thanks for providing these reviews. I look forward to watching your next offering.
    . . .

      Awww, Thank you so much for your support and encouraging me to continue - much appreciated. I am hoping to test ride the Ducati Multistrada 950S as soon as I can find a dealer with one on their test ride fleet. I tried to sit on a Honda Africa Twin but couldn't even push it off it's side stand, it was just too top heavy🤣😅. If I tried any harder I probably would have dislocated my hip joints🤣

    • @wanionwombat9338
      @wanionwombat9338 Před 3 lety +1

      I agree! The seat height of the new Africa Twin is about at the level of my chin. I am 5'5" , 28" inseam .
      Unlike you, I will not need a bike with gobs of power. I am used to riding big single cylinder motorcycles, so anything with more power than 60HP will work just fine for me. Having the ability to roll on power from 70MPH is just not needed for me at this time. I like twisty-two-lane roads and avoid motorways unless absolutely necessary.
      I have narrowed my bike list down to the Tiger 900 GT and the Moto Guzzi V85TT. My larger than I really want/need bike would be the Kawasaki Versys 1000. My smaller than I really want bike, from a touring standpoint, would be a Kawasaki Z900RS.
      I do like the Ducati Multistrada 900, but I would have to look into options for lowering the seat height.

    • @InfusedBiker
      @InfusedBiker  Před 3 lety

      And Moto Guzzi has the shaft drive. no messy chain lube!

    • @wanionwombat9338
      @wanionwombat9338 Před 3 lety +1

      Yep, and no big plastic fairing. Air-cooled as well. However, the power it produces will not excite many riders who are looking for high HP thrills.

      Oh it did make me smile but not quite the full 'grin'. 😁 Where as the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT gave me grins from ear to ear!😃😄😅 It's a torque monster and the bhp to match!

    An excellent review, especially from short riders perspective Sir. I am myself of same height and looking for upgrading from Z900 to either Tiger 850/900 or Versys 1000. Which one is better from ease of handling and comfort on bad/ gravel roads in your opinion.

    • @InfusedBiker
      @InfusedBiker  Před 2 lety +1

    I'm short my self. 173 cm and I bought the Versys 1000 SE. I took the lower seat (820 mm) but it is still to high because of the weight of the machine. If I'm riding alone it is ok, but with my wife and luggage it is no fun. So If you are shorter and want to travel with socius and luggage you have to know - this is a big and heavy bike. inline 4 is very silky making your travel really nice. But again, if you are heavy, 120 hp are not so much... I would prefer the 141 hp from S1000SX. I owned the S1000SX and I miss the 141 hp. Sitting position is great - I love it. It is a nice bike. Very confortable but I will test the new Multistrada V4 next year. Lower weight, lower seat with 810 mm and 170 hp...

      @@InfusedBiker The fact it's made for giants, kind of makes you wonder why they made it that height? My brought up conception of the Asian races are that they are smaller than ourselves. Or, is that just a myth? I have listened to many reviews on all kind of bikes and still confused as to what to buy. Mind you we can't buy anything at the moment as the government thinks motorbikes are not essential. I disagree, it's good for my mental health and well-being ;)
