    I watch many videos on cake decoration, and yours are the most practical, accessible and detailed. Fantastic. Your instruction has given me the courage to create a wedding cake for my daughter. Thank you!

    I like how you always account for mistakes that could occur when you're decorating and explain how they can be easily corrected. Thank you for all your unique ideas.

    What do you use to mix Edible Gold to make it a paste to paint the cake

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  Před rokem

      I use any clear alcohol (usually a high proof grain alcohol but sometimes vodka) or if I don't have either of those I'll use a clear vanilla extract.

    Hi thanks for these. Do you know if gold leaf sticks to stabilised whipped cream?

    I bought a gold airbrush color mistakenly, is there any way I can use it with whipped cream or buttercream frosting? Please help...

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  Před 4 lety +1

      If you have an airbrush you can spray the colour over whipped cream or buttercream after frosting your cake. You can try painting straight onto buttercream with it but it's probably diluted so that it works in an airbrush so it might not give you great coverage

    • @debapriyasur6296
      @debapriyasur6296 Před 4 lety

      @@BritishGirlBakes Thank you so much for your response :) I forgot to mention I don't have an airbrush...I tried to paint over buttercream but it didn't stick, just as you mentioned it's too watery :(. I was wondering hence if there's any other way to use that color...
      Btw, I love the way you explain and your videos are super helpful, thank you so much :)

    What is your preferred brand of luster dust? I have been on the hunt for some and have found many brands out there, but I’m not sure which one to buy.

  • @swatiratnani7838
    @swatiratnani7838 Před 4 lety

    All this is workable bcos it is buttercream..working with whipped cream won’t give the same results right ? I’m really confused

      Whipped cream will work with some of the techniques - which ones are you interested in?

    Please about your cake board, I know is different from the ones I used to see. Where can I buy one?

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  Před 4 lety

      It's a greaseproof cardboard cake board by Wilton. I'm not sure which country you're in but you can buy them at Wilton or on amazon in North America

    • @janettebenson5460

      I believe the alcohol evaporates very quickly and isn't harmful.

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  Před 4 lety +1

      Same answer as Janette - it evaporates within a few minutes leaving the gold colour behind on the cake.

    Gold is an inert chemical. It has no nutiritional value, it has no taste. It is pointless.

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  Před rokem

      Lots of ingredients/materials are pointless from a nutritional point of view but they add decorative details to a cake.
