When they play this live there are little lighted up drones flying around the arena like moths. They really know how to put on a show.
I was surprised when I saw it live, didn't expect it at all! Cool effect
Seen it live , when the drones came out...I was loving it more. Bought my tickets for this year..can't wait
When it comes to rhythm picking speed, precision, and stamina James Hetfield is peerless. On top of all that he's also one of the all-time greatest riff masters.
Yess! And on top of that fucking sings! What?! Fucking beast!
They have been doing this for a little over 40 years. James does have one of the fastest down picking right hands in the business.
James Hetfield has 'The Right Hand of God'.
Papa het iron wrist
This is like 30 years after Master of Puppets. And the closest to "Classic" Metallica in a LONG time
The whole album sounded like a love child of Justice and the Black album. fucking awesome.
Death Magnetic blows this out of the water. Half this album sounds like Load era leftovers.
This entire album kicks ass! They still make great music in their 50s!!!! This song was inspired by an amy wine house documentary James watched. About how fame can become.
This song was inspired by Amy Winehouse death, after James Hetfield watched her documentary.
Yes Finally!!! Same album Spit out the Bone đŠŽ!!! Going to shock yâall!!!
This song was released in 2016 from their latest album. Love you guys reactions!
James has always been incredible playing all of his Riffs with just downpicking,no matter how fast, Song's like Disposable Heroes and Battery really stand out.
As a guitar player that been following them since no life til leather, some of james riffs are just easier down picking,, and it sounds better and more clear. But he doesn't down pick everything, that would be impossible and would give him carpal tunnel.
@@jefffredenburg7231 Johnny Ramone would disagree lol
@@jefffredenburg7231 Have you ever seen Rick Beato's channel he always talks about the older he gets the harder it is to do the fast downpicking parts, so he cheats with alternate picking, lol.
Johnny Ramone never played that fast
@@cathyharbaugh691 that is true. But he didn't downpick whiplash, the four horseman, metal mulisha, battery, or the ending of one.
James is an incredible rhythm player ,downpicking with such speed and precision. Rick Beato mentioned recently how tough some of the riffs are to play.
I can't praise your channel enough for going straight into the music! All other reactors have to give their life story before they say "Let's get into it.". Keep doing it right! Much love!
Yeah some of them drag these things out to 20-30 minutes and it's just too much.
What youâre hearing is the right wrist of James Hetfield. The greatest right wrist in all of metal and rock n roll. The sword that gives him the title of riffmaster general.
came here to say the same.
I don't know... my right wrist is pretty legendary. ;-)
@@kingbrutusxxvi a legend in your own hand..
What a way to put tha!!!t... "sword of the riff master general". No wonder I've been in love with James' style since forever.
Scott Ian got a hellva right hand as well đ€
Kirk Hammett goes off on this album. His solos are all f**king EPIC!
Which is funny because he had a plethora of solos that arenât on this album because either he lost them or they were accidentally deleted.
@@TheMan750 He didn't accidentally delete them he full on lost his phone which is where he recorded everything he wrote for the album and didn't back anything up lol so he just winged it on the whole album because he lost it too close to the recording dates to write anything new.
They did this song with Lady Gaga for some award show a few years ago (James' mic didn't work) but in the rehearsal it did.
Whenever I hear that little riff at 0:37 I think of her wiggly/snakey move
She,s a big metal fan. IRON MAIDEN is her favorite band. She was in a LED ZEPPELIN tribute band. check it out on youtube. I respect her as a musician.
I saw Metallica for the first time in 94. I've seen them 4 other times since and they never disappoint. I've been to a ton of concerts but no one puts on a show like Metallica.
1994? I watched the open for Ozzy in 1985. And my parents locked my up for testing positive for thc the next day lol. I didnt hit anything except for that beautiful girl who took me there. God bless her!
I love Lex'is sounds. It's like.. i understand every word what she said but Brad is like xD i love it
amy winehouse history is the reason behind this song guys. 2016.
"Metallica are metal scientists"
quote of the year
This album came out 30 years after Master Of Puppets. Master Of Puppets came out in 1986 and Hardwired... To Self-Destruct came out in 2016.
this entire album is great
One of the best song Metallica has
Great song also âatlas riseâ from the same album is amazing!
Yes!đ€đ»
Rise!!!!
I remember hearing this for the first time and being blown away. Iâve overplayed it too much now, but hearing it again right now reminded me of how badass this song is. Metallica knows how to write a badass song that doesnât sound dated.
This song is from their 2016 album "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct". They really came back recently
That's right Lex! I get the same feeling with those heavy powerful riffs! That's what it is supposed to do! Get it girl!!!!
Lex is a proper metal head!
Brad, not so much... but he really digs Alanis, so there's that...
@@justinatest9456 He is learning. And slowly get used to it.
Brad for reference this is 2016 metallica
Master of Puppets is 1986.
Try Volbeat, a danish band that has toured with Metallica.....They have a cover of Dont tread on Me...please try it out
I'm really enjoying your metallica journey, keep it up!!
Unforgiven 2 and 3 next, great storyâs
After Metallica went to slower hard rock during the '90s ( Black album, Load, and Reload) , they have had recent albums with more thrash metal songs, closer to their '80s stuff and Garage Days (great thrash metal albums)
St Anger (2003), Death Magnetic (2008), Hardwired (2016) are very good albums, check them out. Back to heavier sounds compared to their '90s albums.
Man said St Anger is a very good album
This was off their latest album, Hardwired for Self Destruction.
I got most excited when I heard you have a guitar! I've been playing since I was 8, it really does increase the appreciation of other artists when you are one yourself! Woo!
Gotta build those callousesâŠPapa Het is The Godfather of down picking..how precision and endurance is incredibleâŠpicking like that for that long is hard as hell. Johnny Ramone is the other down picking masterâŠyou guys should do more Ramones stuff
Metallica's 1st album Kill Em All came out in 1983. Their 1st video was for One from their 4th album And Justice For All in 1988. Metallica had a large following without video or radio airplay. There was no internet back then either.
Thats a fucking banger
Lex gettin it in!!! Your soul is amazing!!!!
The dress rehearsal version with Lady Gaga is my definitive version of this song. She brought the goods.
She did. she,s a big metal fan. IRON MAIDEN is her favorite band. She was in a LED ZEPPELIN tribute band. Check it out on youtube. She,s a real musician. Compared to other pop icons.
@@ssRocker-nn3tp She is an artist and musician. To me she's a transcendent talent.
đ¶
Thatâs literally the worst version imo đ
The actual performance where Jame's microphone goes out is also fantastic.
One of the best newish songs, reminds me of when I heard fuel its a high octane in your face songđ
Try â Spit out the Boneâ. Same album. Super awesome and fast fast fast.
Yes Spit out the Bone is awesome.
Just got my Shadow systems MR920 for my EDC and then you guys dropped this master piece. Man what a great day!
An instant metal classic đ€
Finally they seem to find their roots again: finally thrash metal again!
They are truly Masters of their Craft.
need to do "hardwired" prob my fav tune off hardwired to self destruct!
This Album and song came out in 2016. I bought it the first day it was available.
Holy shit she dances like no one is watching! I enjoy it the same way!!
Love the reactions guys. âTo live is to dieâ when you can please!
This album pays tribute to one of there biggest influence iron maiden!!the guitar riffs and sound
Another great reaction from this beautiful couple!! I think you guys might also enjoy "Albatross" by "Big Wreck".
That is the most terrifying album cover I have ever seen đđit looks straight out of a carpenter movie but Iâm here for it since I love me some Carpenter â€
Halo on Fire. Another great song from the same album
Yeah Metallica as a young man in my 20s in the 90s this music was therapy
Please do Bleeding Me from the original S&M Album where they played with the San Francisco Symphony. So good!
đ€đ€ Hell Yeah!!!! Head Banging away to Metallica is always fun!!!! đâ€â
Maestro Fresh Wes - Let Your Backbone Slide
Exactly how I showed them.
The Encyclopedia Metallica is an amazing catalog of music. Period.
If you can't rock to this, there's something wrong with you lol đ€
Metal is not my first music choice, but I have to agree with you!
Please do a Playlist of you learning guitar. I have a guitar but can't play it would be cool to learn with Lex!
This song is from the last Metallica album "Hardwired... To self-distruct" (2016)
James Hetfield was inspired to write this song after he had watched the 2015 documentary film "Amy" about Amy Winehouse
I cannot believe this album is already 6 years old
Hetfield and Hammett also uses all down strokes on the rythym.....no alternate picking
Easy one for Brad.....it says at the end what the song is about....."Addicted to the fame"
All Nightmare Long or
Spit Out the Bone, next please đ
Pretty much the only modern Metallica songs worth a listen.
@@voltakackackack666 i do have a soft spot for The Day That Never Comes đ
@@gbfan8095 i did like that one i just listened to it too much and got sick of it, whereas old school Metallica i am still not tired of.
@@voltakackackack666 I love the whole last album. I think itÂŽs the first in decades were Cliff wouldnÂŽt leave the room screaming in anger.
All Nightmare Long may very well make my top 10 Metallica tracks of all time, absolutely love it
My favorite song from this album is Manunkind... just a different sounding song, but still have that in your face Metallica sound
Cool.
Just heard this song live at Cowboys Stadium it"s very underrated
My neck hurts
There is an official video that is quite good. Seeing is believing.
the guys making this music received mail from AARP while recording it.đ€Łđ€Ł old people are awesome now!
This album is 30 years after puppets. And they still kill it!!!!
Love your reactions. Must listen to memory remains another great Metallica song
Frayed Ends of Sanity metallica
Hey I just to thank you guys for taking your time for listening my favorite band EveR can you please reaction Metallica with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra the song is Four Leaf Clover you guys are going to be amazed. Carlos M
you should check out halo on fire from the same album, i think it s their best song in 20 years, especially the outro
its 30 Years between master of puppets 1986 and moth into the flame 2016
and you can feel and hear the progress of this band as musicans they made
...and yet have stayed true to their collective core musicianship..
Yeah now they suck and lars is crybaby
Atlas rise is another incredible song from this album. You gotta listen to it
2016 is when this came out.
The next Metallica song you need to react to is "Now That We're Dead"
agree!!!
Spit out the bone should be the next track yâall should listen too
Brad & Lex not sure if you'll see this but the Head Over Heels song just gave me an idea. Are people doing Movie reactions?? I think that would be a great niche, granted it would require much more time and effort but if yall ever did decide to do a Special episode of a Movie Reaction I would strongly suggest starting with "Donnie Darko"... Lex would love the music throughout the entire film and Brad would absolutely flip tha F out trying to figure out what he is watching!! LOL.
Can I get an Amen on this fans?
James Hetfield said he wrote 'Moth into flame' after watching a documentary on Amy Winehouse... her rise to fame, her addictions and her sad death. It was a cycle that Hetfield was only too familiar with... having struggled w/ fame and alcohol abuse.
Hellyeah wrote the song 'Moth' before Metallica... also about addiction.
Amy Winehouse being James' muse on this song seemed so weird to me at the time, but the song and lyrics are top-notch, and hats off to James for being open about the inspiration. A great late-era Metallica song for sure.
facts!
And Audioslave did âMothâ which is about addiction before Hellyeah
Off there last album
This should be a cue for you to learn palm muting. James was a master of the chugging style riff, and yes he had sharper edges than most. Its in the muting technique.
The boys still got it
This is off their newest album, much later than Master Of Puppets.
Awesome to see this live with drones released from the stage !
Please react to Bleeding Me next. It's a great ride
My music will definitely have a place in the rap industryđ„âŒïž
A
agree
best band
Song dedicated to Amy W.
đ€đ€
James said he had Amy Winehouse in his thoughts when he wrote the lyrics.
its what I thinkis called....FINE TUNED CRAFT
This is studio, no fucks ups
Song is about Amy Winehouse
You can do it Lex. Just 30 minutes a day. The secret is, everyday. It 8 months you'll be doing it.
30 years after Master of puppets.
Long live Metallica.
You guys should listen to Dream No More off the same album.
I want to request you guys listen to Lamb of God Redneck and/or Momento Mori. Something I feel Lex could get behind
he's playing so fast and it's so precise - that's called James Hetfield baby, godly right hand
Hetfield has one of the best voices for rock and metal for sure.
